DB - Cocoa Stand

One of the gals brought along an Avery Elle Cocoa Stand make n take to crafty day this past Saturday. So cute!  Novell's version featured a bear but when you accidentally grab the (so very) wrong brown, sometimes you have to have a literal cow.

I added extra bling--the lights, ornaments and additional trees. That Distress Oxide Spun Sugar sponged background is so Novell and a fabulous idea.

Loveliest Holiday

Today's card was so easy to make.  I just embossed the Colorado Stamp Company image in gold and watercolored it with Zigs. Swoon!

Whimsy - Peaceful Stream

Today I have two Whimsy cards for you using the Peaceful Stream rubber stamp. The first is my favorite although I could not for the life of me capture the shimmer of the Pearl Ex. I stamped the Peaceful Stream using Versamark then brushed Pearl Ex over it.

For the Snowflake Frame I used Distress Oxides. I love how the purple looks with all that gold.

Now the second card was much easier to photograph. I sponged Distress Oxides on the background then spattered with water (for snow). Once dry, I stamped Peaceful Stream using Versamark then embossed it with a silver embossing powder.

I used a snow embossing folder on the silver cardstock and centered the diecut stream image over it. Very elegant imo.

Whimsy - Frosty Friends

Mmm, does the Whimsy Frosty Wishes cocoa hot tub mug look inviting? The weather is getting colder here so I'm all about staying cozy.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copics. I used a Sakura White Roller Pen to add plaid details. So cute!

For the card base I stamped the Curly Qs Background using Distress Oxide Weathered Wood. It may be windy outside, but who cares when you're in a hot tub?

For the hill, I used one of the Wavy Edgers. I love that stitched scallop edge. Once I had assembled the card, I diecut the Friend die and colored it with Copics. The other part of the sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black.

Stay frosty, my friends!

ATCAS #171 - Hero

Our latest challenge over at Addicted to CAS is upon us. The code word is "hero." Lots of possibilities, right?  Come join us with your interpretation.

Here I used Lawn Fawn Just Stitching Double Circles to frame my Clearly Besotted Caped Cuties images. Cutie indeed!

I used MFT Mini Cloud Edges with Distress Oxide Salty Ocean for a bit of sky.

I colored him up with Copics and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black.

Whimsy - Santa's Train

Aren't the Whimsy Santa's Train images beyond cute? You could make this treat train as long as you wanted. I imagine these winding along our mantel. Ack!

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copics. I used colors that would really show up well against the green tones I had planned for the Mini Treat Boxes.

I cut out the boxes next. You need to use either an 8.5x11" sheet (the solid box) or a 12x12" sheet (the 2 patterned boxes). I was excited to discover the boxes only needed one strip of tape for assembly; the design includes tabs at the bottom and cleverly fold up to create the bottom of the box!

Oh, look, you can see where I used a Marvy Snow Marker for Santa's puffy parts.

I stamped snowflakes from the Frosty Wishes set with Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn onto the solid box. Next I adhered the train images onto the boxes and framed them with center parts of the Slimline Scallop Die.

I added a couple of different bow options to see which I liked best.  The dotted sheer one in my favorite.  What about you?

Batty for You

I find myself short a couple of Halloween cards so whipped this one up using the Simon Says Stamp Tim Holtz Stamptember stamps and stencil. The image is so creepy cute.  Did you notice his hair? LOL.

I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black, masked him, and sponged the card front with Distress Oxide Black Soot, Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, and spatters of Ripe Persimmon.

The stencil is sponged with DO Wilted Violet.

Whimsy - Morticia on Whimsy blog

Have you been enjoying our 31 Nights of Halloween event as much as I have?  There are still a few days left, more prizes to win, and, of course, the grand prize.

You'll find more info and my latest card on the Whimsy Blog, cara mia.

DB - Tail Feathers

Earlier this week on the Doodlebugs blog I shared an interactive Thanksgiving card featuring the Lawn Fawn Peacock Before 'n Afters image colored up as a turkey (both before and for dinner--LOL).

I thought I would use the image again as the peacock it was meant to be.

I colored up the peacock using Copics. I added Zig Wink of Stella Clear too but after these photos were taken.

For the background, I sponged Distress Oxide Mustard Seed through the MFT Radiating Rays Stencil.

The sentiments are stamped with Versafine Onyx Black

The peacock is mounted on a  Mini Action Wobble so he can literally shake his tail feathers!

Colorful Boo

I've had this idea in my head with all the big stamp companies coming out with Boo dies. I did these on my Scan n Cut using Doodlebug Design Candy Carnival 6x6 paper that I colored up using Copics. I could easily replicate this look using paper that is already in color.

I paired the BOO with Mama Elephant Little Boo Agenda ghosts that are also colored in Copics.  The background paper is Sunny Studio Subtle Grey Tones which is fun but allows the busy BOO to take center stage.

I popped the BOO on Scotch foam tape and used Gina K Connect Glue for everything else. The ghosts peeking through are especially cute!

SOSS #146 - P is for Pink Halloween

Today marks the start of the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #146 P for Pink Halloween. Halloween is my favorite but throwing pink into the mix throws me off usually but not this year. Hot pink Gelli print to the rescue!

I cut the print out using a Honey Bee Deckled Edge Rectangle die and adhered it to the card front that I had stamped using the Whimsy Illusions background stamp with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron.

Next up I stamped the Whimsy Zombie Boy image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copics. I love the expression on his face!

Final steps included stamping and embossing the sentiment using Versamark and Ranger White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder, with the retort printed on my label printer, and adding a few Whimsy Dracula Going Batty bats.
