Wonderful Holiday

I was making a card for a future DT assignment using The Greetery Simply Wonderful and thought I'd play around with it more.  LOVE!

I thought of this card in the middle of the night and immediately started working on it when I woke up--a miracle.  Normally I would have forgotten the idea! LOL.

I stamped another "wonderful" in blues and will work something up with that soon enough. Probably. Maybe.

Simon Says Stamp - Best Ever

I got my latest Simon Says Stamp Golden Bone package for the Kisses release and finally had time to play a bit. I cannot believe it's already almost February--what the heck!

I must admit I LOVE how this card turned out.  I wanted to try using alcohol ink on the Simon Champage Matte Foil cardstock and wow, wow, wow!  So sassy!

I then embossed the Jumbled Hearts background using Versamark with a translucent yellow embossing powder. I wish you could fondle this.  Yes, fondle!

I'm entering this in TIME OUT #230 Inspired by Words.

HLS Christmas - Metallic

It's time for another Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.  As always it's anything goes with an optional topping which happens to be "metallic" this month.

I used acrylic paints to brayer the debossed side of an embossed panel I had in my stash. I then spattered with silver watercolor paint and added a hot-foiled silver sentiment. Dreamy!

  • Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Perfect Sentiments (Hot Foil & Dies)

Blessed Autumn

One of my cats recently tipped over my water bottle on the craft table and destroyed quite a few works in progress.  I managed to salvage this one.

I had sprinkled Lindy's Magicals on the card front and spritze with water.  Once dry I used the Spellbinders Autumn Leaf Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate with copper hot foil to impress the leaves.  I particularly love this plate, don't you?

I cut out the Birch Press Design Blessed Honey Script Die and popped it up on a couple of additional medium brown layers.

The metallic touches are so pretty against that dreamy background. LOVE it!

Foiled Joy

I've lost track of my 5 cards/month Christmas goal but pretty sure I'm doing okay.

I experimented with a new hot foil plate--changing out foil color, types of cardstock, and cardstock color.  My favorite combo is pink and gold as always but I really liked the one on the far right which was rose gold on a pale blush color. I layerd it on Neenah metallic (shimmer) cardstock and it's fabulous.

Copper World

Perhaps my holiday card theme for March should be metallics. Don't you love how the copper looks against that rusty watery background?  I was going to toss the background but played with it a bit more then this idea came to me. Great save!

Whimsy J1 - Graphic Thanks

I am so excited to be posting my first card as a new member of the Whimsy Stamps DT. Woo hoo!  I really surprised myself with this card; it's outside my comfort zone and certainly not my usual style but I love it!

I used the WS Quick Strips and a bunch of scraps of cardstock (yay to reducing that mega pile!) to create a bright and colorful background. Imagine all the possibilities--patterned paper, white on white, metallics--the list doesn't end!

I then die cut the Thanks die in gold and the border die in black. I love how it pops against the rest of the card.  And notice how I had placed a strip of black behind it? I think that helps draw attention to it as well.

Cards in Envy Feels Like Fall

Does it feel like fall to you?  It does over at Cards in Envy--come join us!

My card started with a leftover panel from a project I had done last year involving a copper frame.  This was buried deeeeep in the "use this someday" pile, that's for sure.  I sponged it with Distress Oxides then light burnished the copper with a dry paper towel. I love the way the copper looks with the Oxides.

I die cut the leaves and struggled with the card base color. Kraft? White? Yellow? Black? Black obviously won out but I did add more interest that impressing the leaves into the black panel so the veins would show. Very cool. I positioned the die cut leaves so they stuck out over the edge of the panel. Again very cool that their points are mimicked by the points of the panel.
