I used that MFT Somebunny set and paper-piecing again along with the MFT Layered Umbrella to create an adorable Easter/spring card. I particularly love the combination of patterned paper on this one.  So fun and cute!

CAS on Friday #279 - Easter

I love occasionally looking through my stash to remind myself of what I have.  Yes, absolutely, I sometimes get sidetracked because so many cute cute sets but how else would I have refound this MFT Somebunny set that needed some love and was the perfect set to use for the latest CAS on Friday #279 Easter Challenge?

I even took the opportunity to use up some patterned paper scraps by paper-piecing her dress.  Just adorable!  Note if you were to make this design, including the paper-piecing, you wouldn't even need to mask off the bunny to get the grass behind since the paper-pieced dress will color it.  Nifty!

BRI - Book Lover Birthday

Welcome to another Butterfly Reflections Ink Monday!  As an avid book lover, I am particularly enamored of today's project.  So so cute!

I really wanted to emphasize the book-ness of the card front and that amazing Mama Elephant Turn the Page die so I cut some extra pages from scrap cardstock and adhered them to look like a book had fallen open.  I did trim down the edges of the designer paper and wood floor pieces to accommodate the extra bits.

I popped up both the little bears in the forefront of the scene as well as the top of the book the bear is reading; the bottom part of the book is just glued down.

Of course, I used my beloved Copics to color everything up.  I even shaded the sofa then sighed when I realized the bear and cat covered it all up--LOL.

But, wait, there's more!  When I read I am transported to another world and wanted that to be reflected on the interior of the card. Plus, I love punny sentiments. Win, win!  

I used a few fantasy type images as fantasy books are my favorite but I'm down for a good mystery, sci fi, or general fiction--heck, just about anything really.

Btw, I used my heaviest weight Neenah cardstock for the card base (I think 140 lb) so was able to stamp and color right on it.  The mouse and balloon are glued on to hide a little stamping boo boo but otherwise would have been directly stamped too.

Paper Strip Background

I saw this pin with a card by Bette Manning and absolutely loved the striped background. I immediately cut some strips of cardstock and mounted them to a piece of printer paper then cut them into A2 panels.  This is the first finished card.  I embossed a couple of panels too but haven't worked with them beyond that.  More coming soon (hopefully!).
