Whimsy - Wow Collaboration
I'm so excited to be part of the Whimsy Stamps and WOW collaboration blog hop going on now through the 5th of April.
As we have so many talented designers wanting to play along we decided to celebrate by splitting the blog hop up over two days.
You'll find more details about the other particpants and how to win following my post!
I'm using WOW! Primary Yellow, Primary Fuschia Fusion, and Ebony embossing powders on my card.
I love the vibrancy of the colors! I've used the Wow! Primary Fuschia Fusion along with the XO stamp from Whimsy Hogs and Kisses to create the card background.
I then stamped the cute little piggies in an arc like a banner, mirroring the arc with the Wavy Edgers Dies. I used the wavy edger again with a yellow cardstock, then used a Versamark pen and WOW! Primary Yellow embossing powder.
I colored up the piggies using Copic E43, E44, R00, R12, and RV06. Once I had the card front assembled, I stamped the sentiment using WOW! Black embossing powder and was very pleased with how well I was able to emboss over emboss.
Your next stop on the hop is Whimsy Stamps! The full hop listing and how to win is listed below. Have fun!

Whimsy - Hexagon Hogs
My Whimsy card for today features three of the new sets available in the shop: Hogs and Kisses, Chameleon Party, and Nested Hexagon Dies.
I cut out the smallest of the Nested Hexagon Dies from various scraps of cardstock (This. This is why I save those scraps that I use twice a year! LOL). I pseudo-randomly adhered them to the card base.
Next I stamped the images and colored them with Copics, using colors that coordinate with the hexagons.
Isn't that piggy cute?! And that sentiment? LOVE it! I stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black. Oh! I also added an extra black hexagon at the top to cover my smudgy fingerprint. So so me!
I'll see you soon with another Whimsy card. In the meantime, why don't you take a gander at the other goodies in the Whimsy shop.

TFS - Birthday Hop
It's Topflight Stamps' 3rd birthday and to celebrate, I’ve teamed up with some great designers to showcase birthday cards using the unique products available at Topflight Stamps.
Please hop along with us and see all the beautiful talent from this group of amazing designers!
You should have arrived here from Connie Mercer's blog. If not--no worries--catch the details below my card.
I used the new Darkroom Door Burnt Edge Frame as a focal point for the Darkroom Door Wild Things sentiment. I stamped the sentiment with Prism Ink Blackcurrant Jam, Pink Jellybean and Dusky Rose for an ombre effect.
Behind that I used the Visible Image Count Me In stencil, using Prism Ink Canary Yellow and Dusky Rose. I also used the Pronty A5 Pretty and Cool Stars Stencil with Prism Ink Blue Lagoon.
Finally I colored up the hippo from Katzelkraft Jungle Animals using Copic YR68, YR000, YR01, YR02, and N1.
Thanks for stopping by! The next stop is Lindsay Weirich!
The entire hop list is below; if you get lost you can always start at the Topflight Stamp Blog. Below that, find details on the prizes and how to gain chances to win!
GIVEAWAY DETAILS
Of course, it wouldn’t be a birthday celebration without prizes!

SOSS #156 - K for Kids
I'm so proud of myself--using both kids (baby goats) and kids (children) for this fortnight's Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #156 K for Kids! Rather apropos given the current world situation.
I stamped, masked, and watercolored the goats then decided to add a background. Yes, rather back-ass-ward of me. I sketched the fence and watercolored it, added some grass and used a stencil to sponge in the clouds.
Oh! I did use the head from one goat and Frankensteined it with the body of another so I could have two kids hopping on its poor, poor mama. LOL.

Whimsy - Butterflies
We're having a special Whimsy release this month. It's amazeballs! I LOVE these Butterflies and the Lattice A2 Die is to die for.
To start, I sponged Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar onto the card front. Highlighting the space behind the second butterfly was accidental--a good one!
Then I made my own mask/stencil using the Lattice A2 Die. I sponged that with Distress Oxide Mustard Seed.
I also sponged a few Speckled Heart Stencil circles with DO Peacock Feathers and the Fall Dangle Stencil with DO Mowed Lawn. Such a pretty color combination.
I love how this one turned out and it just took a few minutes--for real!

Whimsy - Ombre Cupcake
I'm posting another of the Whimsy October 2019 Retreat Make 'n' Takes I had done. I looooove this cupcake set--so many possibilities!
A list of supplies needed is at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!
- Using Versamark, stamp your chosen cupcake randomly onto the card front with one centered in the upper half of the card.
- Also stamp the sentiment onto black cardstock using Versamark.
- Heat emboss both with Ranger White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder.
- Brush the card front lightly with water.
- Using a flat brush, apply Distress Oxide in broadstrokes, overlapping colors to create an ombre effect. Set aside to dry. Once dry, spatter the card front with water if you like.
- Stamp your chosen cupcake onto the 3 x 3" square of watercolor cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black.
- Watercolor the cupcake using Distress Oxides.
- Once the image has dried, trim the excess cardstock from the cupcake image and adhere it over the centered cupcake image as shown.
- Die cut the sentiment using a Quick Strips oval.
- Die cut a Quick Strips flag banner from the strip of white cardstock. Cut it in half vertically.
- Adhere the card front to the card base.
- Adhere the flag banner, pulling out the two sides so it spans the card width.
- Adhere the sentiment oval over the flag banner, hiding the missing portion and creating a "belt."
- Whimsy Calories Schmalories
- Whimsy Quick Strips
- A2 card base
- Watercolor cardstock (4.25 x 5.5" for card front & 3x3" square for cupcake)
- Black cardstock (1.5 x 3")
- White cardstock (1 x 4")
- Adhesive
- Versamark
- Versafine Onyx Black
- Ranger White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder
- Distress Oxides of your choice for the background (Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Mustard Seed used here)
- Acrylic block or other waterproof surface to use a painter's palette.
- Broad flat brush (3/4" used here) or waterbrush
- Craft scissors

Whimsy - (Re)Fresh Friday Otters
Over on the Whimsy Stamps blog you'll find a new feature this year where on Fridays we are sharing projects using some less recent products. It's a really fun way to get new ideas for sets you already have or need to get.
For my project I'm using Birthday Otters, Calories Schmalories, Wonky Stitched Rectangle Dies and Starring Hearts 6x6 Paper.
I colored the otters and cupcake using Copics and the star paper for inspiration. I was worried that the otters wouldn't show up well given their neutral colors but was happily proven wrong.
Aren't their expressions and speech bubble so well matched? They crack me up!
