TIME OUT Reminder

My second card guest designing with TIME OUT! As a reminder, Challenge 88 is Inspired by Words:
If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely. --Roald Dahl
I focused on the face this time--look at the bliss radiating from mermonkey--so cute.  Some sponging, coloring, spattering, blinging, diecutting--geesh, about everything in this card!  Thanks to my friend, Amy, for helping make my birthday even more special!

HUGE Thanks

A quick thank you card for a buddy of mine who loves elephants. The background is both brushed and sponged then spattered with water. I loved the tone of the yellow paper against the purple plus the somewhat tribal pattern.  The grass stamp was different and better than I thought.  I'm going to be using this lots in my scenes!

TIME OUT Guest Designer

I'm so excited to have won a recent TIME OUT and thus have the opportunity to guest design with them. I love these challenges so what a treat! Woo hoo!!

I do hope you'll join in the current challenge #88 which is Inspired by Words:
If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely. --Roald Dahl
I pulled in lots of sunshine and good vibes into my card. The lightbeams and waves are stencilled. The sand is gold dotted washi with Stickled sand in the pail. I used a castle die rather than the sand castle that comes with the stamp set so the ellie could peek out and that adorable hippo and her watermelon smile would have a larger backdrop. They kill me with their cuteness!

The Details:  Neat and Tangled Beach Day and Rice Paddies Stencil, sunshine stencil made with my Silhouette, Gina Marie Designs Castle die, Lawn Fawn Sentiment Banner die, Ranger Classic Cherry Enamel Accents and Metallic Stickles, Distress Oxide Broken China, Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade and Mermaid Lagoon, Waltzing Mouse Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Die, Gold Dot washi from Impress

A New Day

A sympathy card for a friend whose mother passed away. I know she knows we're thinking of her.

Cards in Envy Baby Blue or Pretty Pink

Our Cards in Envy Challenge this round is to create a card using either baby blue or pretty pink. It DOESN'T have to be a baby card which is obviously the route I took.

I sponged the background with Distress Inks and spattered with water.  While that was drying, I colored up the C9 flowers and was a bit taken aback by the vibrancy of the pink but oh how I love it. The mermaid is Love Cynthia colored up with my usual blonde hair and favorite greens for her tail.  One of my favorite parts tho is the land she's sitting on--that's the GMD Mountain Scenery die! You know how I love stretching my supplies!

I'm also loving the Q&C Waves Coverplate--waves obviously but upside down could be clouds. Need to work that up!

The Details: Love Cynthia Just Keep Swimming, Concord & 9th Wildflower, MFT Mermazing, Impress Sequin Flower Kit, Copics, Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass, Gina Marie Designs Mountain Scenes Die, Copics, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Scor-Tape, Versamark, Ranger Gold Embossing Powder, Queen & Co Waves Cover Plate Die, Memento Tuxedo Black

So Not Legit

My second card for the Tim Holtz #hipforsummer event.  Woo hoo!  I am having a blast working these up!

The cat looks ever so serious to me--like an FBI agent or something--so I thought of government, then I thought of Trump, then I thought of killing myself. LOL. Seriously tho, continue to resist!

Congrats and Goodbye

A coworker and her family are moving to Africa for humanitarian work so I made this card to celebrate. I found it hard to make since it isn't really goodbye as she'll still be working with us, just remotely, so I went with a caravan and congratulatory sentiments.

Sponged background (love the popped up elements have the same sponging to give the illusion of transparency). Copic-colored images. Just all around cute!

The Details:  Avery Elle Birthday Bus, Mama Elephant Celebration Balloons, Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint, LF Puffy Cloud Border and Grass used as masks, Waltzing Mouse Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die

Ostrich in . . . Space

I was so excited to be contacted by a Tim Holtz rep to ask if I would like to try out their new Hipster dies. Umm, yes, please!

I started the card with the idea of a really bright and colorful summery background with the ostrich popping its head into the card. As I was working, I was reminded of nebulas so added a few stars and a dark card base to emphasize outerspace. THEN, it occurred to me it would be fun to give her a space helmet. I made that with a simple circle die, a Sharpie and transparency film. Her glasses are mounted on top of that, of course. LOL!

The Details:  Tim Holtz Hipster stamps and dies, Bitty Grunge, Bubble stencil, Splatters stencil, Distress Oxide Peeled Paint, Broken China and Worn Lipstick, Distress Ink Picked Raspberry and Mermaid Lagoon; VersaFine Onyx Black, Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink, Peerless Gold Metallics Paint, Heidi Swapp star stencil, Stampendous Detail Fine White Embossing Powder, Versamark, Stamplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies, Black Sharpie, Transparency Film, Ranger Multi Medium Matte

We're celebrating the anniversary of The Heart Desires Store and the THD Challenge this month with a hop where you could be a winner!  There are a few different ways to win so be sure to check the THD Challenge 14 post for all the details. Even if you don't win, you can take advantage of the 20% off store sale by using the code CELEBRATESUMMER2017 through July 31. Woo hoo!

I'm hosting my own giveaway on Instagram to help celebrate too! Be sure to stop by, follow and comment for a chance to win the Lawn Fawn You're Claw-some set.  Good luck and happy crafting!

I love that we're going back to our nautical roots as with the very first THD challenge. I'm certainly all over the nautical and I bet you are too.  This fresh sets of pics was exactly what I needed when I was having a crappy day. I channeled all my frustrations into a snarky card. The look on the dog's face--I swear I'm looking in a mirror sometimes! LOL.

I stamped and masked the NT Woof pup then randomly stamped the water bones in various shades of Distress Ink, some of which I stamped off first to create even more shades. I then colored him up--pretty cute. But you know what's sick cuter? Wondering what just brushed up against your paws--bwahaha! Note I masked part of the shark stamp before I inked it up so the outer lines wouldn't be quite so thick in keeping with the lines of the NT stamp.

I hope you join us at THD and again, good luck!
