Bloom with Grace

I feel a bit boastful to say this card is amazing but, damn it, it is!  It turned out exactly like I pictured in my head, minus the smudges in the upper left and lower right corners.  Hmm, although that's not uncommon for my cards so I shouldn't be surprised with the smudgies!  LOL.

I used the Pretty Pink Posh Pretty Petals stencil with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina on a pale aqua cardstock. I spattered that with Distress Oxide Black Soot and Carved Pumpkin as well as Copic Opaque White and a bit of water.

I then stamped the Pinkfresh Studio Be Strong images with Versafine Onyx Black and watercolored them with Zig Real Brush Markers. I used a few Copics on the backside of the acetate foiled with the Pinkfresh Studio Small Butterflies image.  I nestled the embossed sentiment among the blooms and called it done. Oh, wait, almost done--had to add some sequins!

Happy Graduation!

I can't believe my first great nephew is graduating high school.  I can remember changing his diapers.  Wait, no I can't because I'm the aunt and you can have your baby back, thank you very much. LOL.

He's hoping to enter the Air Force so I used an aviation theme for the card. I'm really quite pleased with how this turned out, especially for using boy blues. It was really hard not to add a dash of magenta as is my wont; I made do with the yummy yellow.

Adventure Awaits

I've made some adjustments to my DT commitments so will have more time for me. I love cardmaking but when it becomes a job, it's not fun for me any longer.

One of my favorite parts of this card, beyond Janet Klein's fab images, was using the Pebble Pile stencil with Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink.  Very dreamy.

I've listed the ingredients I've used below, most purchased from Topflight Stamps.  Be sure to check out the latest in the store. You can shop your heart out using this 12% off coupon

Whimsy - Happy Trails

This another card I've made using the Whimsy September release products.  I hope you've gone to take a look at what's available!

My concept started with the Lots of Dots panel which I had stamped for a different project but didn't use. I cut a Pierced and Stitched Circle Die and Distress Oxide Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn to create the dragon background.

I colored up the Camping Dragons scene using Copics. I took my cue from the image sign to draw dotted trail lines on the card base using a Copic Multiliner 0.3.

I assembled the remaining card front using Scotch Foam Tape and Scor-Tape. So cute!

Live the Life

Here I'm using a Gelli print as raindrops.  I loved the print as it turned out but it had a lot going on as you can see from the snippets so I selectively die cut my fav bits. I also like the purples against the lemongrass paper, an unusual choice for me.

I started by stamping the silhouette and sentiment--this comes from a TH set that I'd had so long without using it that I put it in this summer's garage sale.  Good thing it didn't sell!  Next I stenciled some vertical lines using Distress Oxide. Glue on those raindrops then trim to size = fab!

I'm entering this in Shopping Our Stash #366 Silhouettes, Simon Says Wednesday Distress It

The Details:  Tim Holtz Life's Possibilities, vertical lines stencil, dotty stencil, TCW Rain stencil, Liquitex Acrylic Paints, Versafine Onyx Black, Flavours Gourmet Lemongrass cardstock, Distress Oxide Wilted Violet

Cards in Envy Something New

Time for a new challenge at Cards in Envy--please show us something new. It could be a new technique, new ink, new stamp, or about anything as long it's new to you and you let us know what it is. In my case, I'm using a new stamp, die and stencil.

I started out by sponging the upper half of my card base with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide. Next I die cut the window and sponged it with Salty Ocean, making the color a bit darker at the top in keeping with the base. I realized afterwards that I had cut the window crooked so I used the rectangle die to rectify that--whew!

Coloring up the genie was extra fun--man boobs! He's rockin' that bod. Defined but not defined by working out excessively, you know? Yummers. LOL.

How could I resist getting this set with its kick-ass unis?  Gah!  So cute!  I masked the background and overlapped colors for a spotlight effect.  I then spattered with water before stamping the unicorn.
