BRI - Hay There!

I am loving the latest Lawn Fawn release (available from Butterfly Reflections Ink!) so pulled out some of my other favorite Autumn sets like Sunny Studio Farm Fresh to create an adorable scene.  I have been on many a hayride and tried to recreate that on my card but set here in the Pacific Northwest (and thus the mountains) rather than the midwest.

I create minimal layers in that the mountains are stamped and colored directly on the card base, the barn layer was cut in conjunction with the hillside die, then there's the little popped up images at the front.  I'll easily be able to mail this without extra postage--nice!

Simon Says Stamps - Super Sunflowers

This week I have made a MAJOR effort to clean up my craft desk which had gotten to a hoarder's level of clutter--no joke. It was to the point where my piles had piles and they had piles. UGH!  But, a few evenings of steady organizing and I can see my desk surface again.  Woo hoo!  

Clearing the space also meant I was able to dig into the last three month's of Simon Says Stamp Golden Ticket packages I had gotten.  I wish I were joking how long it'd taken me but life gets in the way of the best of us.

So last night I treated myself to a card for the heck of it based on a couple of challenges and inspired by my encounter with a sunflower and bee earlier in the day.

If you're a regular follower, you know I live in the Seattle area which is known for gray, rainy weather and for good reason. So when the sun comes out, I'm all about it. I particularly love when we have that sunny summer weather we also have so many flowers, so much color.

ATCAS #243 - Shapes

Addicted to CAS Challenge time! This round we're asking for you to use shapes on your card. I used a rectangle on mine but also repeating circles/dots. 

I used a Taylored Expressions Create in Quads Layering Stencil set that I mixed, matched and further masked to create a simple card.  I embossed the sentiment in white then embossed the card panel with the Stampin' Up Linen EF which is sadly discontinued.  It's a great one tho.
