Simon Says Stamp - Wildflower Meadow

I cannot believe it's time for the Simon Says Stamp annual Stamptember event.  Remember last year when I won a Golden Ticket? I certainly do--so exciting--but that was 11 months ago!  What the heckity heck?  Where did the time go?!

As usual, it's another banger year with the SSS release like this Floral Whimsy layering stencil set. It's so pretty and with the different layers being independent with no overlapping of designs you can play to your heart's content with colors and not worry about matching for shading or anything like that. Yay!  

Observe how different the card looks by changing up the colors, the technique and sentiment.

ATCAS #232 - Sympathy

Ready for another Addicted to CAS Challenge?  Of course, you are!  This fortnight we are asking for sympathy cards.

I thought I would use a brighter palette than I usually do to make this card a bit more cheerful than my typical sympathy cards.

I'm sharing a unisex sympathy card over on the Doodlebugs WA blog today.

3D Embossing: Yes, Please!

I'm guest designing for the current TIME OUT Challenge #195 and posted a card for that a couple of days ago. 

As is often the case for me, since I had the stuff out, I went ahead and made more cards, one still fitting the challenge.

I used PTI Soft Stone cardstock when embossing the Altenew Spring Blooms 3D Embossing Folder. I then ran Memento Luxe Pear Tart ink pad lightly over the embossed blooms.

I embossed the MFT Essential Sentiment with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder and added a Pinkfresh Studio Small Butterfly that I had hot foiled in Spellbinders Speckled Aura Hot Foil onto acetate.

I'm entering this one in CAS on Friday #212 Butterfly.

For the other card, I brushed the Altenew Spring Blooms 3D Embossing Folder blossoms with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink. I trimmed down the panel and cut some strips from scrap vellum and Papertrey Ink Kraft cardstock which I then adhered to the card base on top of Birch Press Design Shimmer Lines Washi.

I added a Pinkfresh Studio Perfect Sentiment hot foiled in Spellbinders Gold and applied a few Pinkfresh Studio Gold Metallic Pearls using Glossy Accents. 

A rather different look for me but I like it!  I'm entering this one in Fusion Crayons (sketch).

Whimsy - Mountain Scene

A little change of pace from my Halloween streak with Whimsy Stamps today.  Oh! It can still be Halloween.  Let's assume the deer is zombified.  LOL.

I stamped images from the new Create a Scene Mountain and previous Create a Scene Forest sets to create a lovely nature landscape which I then watercolored with Zigs.

I diecut that using a Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die and adhered it to a card base.

I then stamped the inside of the card and included a sentiment from the Butterflies set.  Just gorgeous.

I have an elegant sympathy card over on the Doodlebugs blog today. Don't make me sad--go check it out!

Whimsy - Lakeside Sympathy

I'm bolstering my sympathy card collection although this card could be a masculine birthday or just a thinking of you.  It's quite lovely, isn't it?

I used masking (eg, a circle for the sun cut from a Whimsy Pierced and Stitched Circle Die), strips of paper and Distress Oxide Salty Ocean, Worn Lipstick, Ripe Persimmon, and Mustard Seed to create the background. I used Distress Ink Black Soot for the island as it's far darker than the DO version.

I then added a selection of the Whimsy Create a Scene Forest images.  There are trees and rocks and all sorts of things to create your own little nature picture.

I diecut the entire scene using one of the Wonky Stitched Rectangle Dies and the embossed sentiment using a Quick Strip.

I added a Build an Island bird then drew in the reflection below.  Btw, after sponging the DO, I decided to add a bit more vibrancy to the colors using my Copic airbrush. Puff, puff and done.
