Slow Down for Christmas

I hope you're sitting down because I'm using a Stamptember set the SAME YEAR as when I bought it! I paired it up with other Lawn Fawn tropical goodies to create a tropical holiday because why not.

I used neon bright tropicali colors to brighten up someone's holiday; could that someone be my niece who LOVES sloths?  Mayyyyybe.

Banner & Bough Holiday

I will be the first to admit there're plenty of things in my stash I've not used yet, an embarassing amount really.  That was the case with the The Greetery Banner & Bough stamps and layering stencils.  I had tested it out last November-ish and that's as far as I got.

This year I used it production style by setting up my regular size MISTI to use the stencils in one corner and the coordinating stamps on the lid.  LOVE the results.

I'm usually all about the bright and pink but the muted version is my favorite of the lot.  Check me for fever!

ATCAS #209 - Purple

Time for the next Addicted to CAS Challenge #209 Purple. Come join in the fun!

I challenged myself by using only colored pencils on my card. Ack!  I usually like to accent my watercolor or Copic coloring with pencils so this was definitely stretching my comfort levels.

Mistletoe

I was really intrigued by the Taylored Expressions Create in Quads Mistletoe Layering Stencils which are about 8.5x11 with the 4 quadrants serving as a layering stencil.  What a clever idea!  And they worked a treat.  I did need to mask a bit on one edge but no big.

Card 3: Distress Oxide Speckled Egg, Stormy Sky, Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Versafine Vintage Sepia (sentiment)

Card 2: Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac, Prize Ribbon, Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Pinkfresh Studio Perfect Sentiments Holiday Hot Foil Plate, Spellbinders Teal Glimmer Hot Foil

Infinite Potential

I have been working on this card for a few weeks.  Seriously.  It was because I was waiting for the Pinkfresh Studio Daisy Wreath die to come in. And so glad I did!

While waiting for the wreath die I got the Pinkfresh Studio Diamond Hot Foil Plate and used it here--Spellbinders Glimmer Opal Hot Foil on pink.  So pretty!  I love how it changes color in the light.

I colored up the image with Zigs, as always amazed by how a few colors turns into a million colors.

I used Ranger Watering Can embossing powder with the PinkFresh Studio Infinite Blooms sentiment on vellum.

I added vellum leaves around the edges too.  Like a lot. The contrast between the vellum and the opal hot foil shine is amazing! Love, love, love!

Waffle Flower Shaped Shaker Guest Designer

I'm so excited to be guest designing for the Shaped Shaker challenge over at Waffle Flower Crafts!  I find shaped cards to be quite the challenge but I'm all about flat shakers so was happy to jump into the creative fray. There are so many fun possibilities.  I hope you'll join us!

I used the largest of the Nesting Tags Dies, cutting it in both a heavy white cardstock as well as Christmas Half Half Lines Paper for each tag. The built-in lines are perfect for writing a little note for the recipient. The reverse of the paper also works well with sponging Distress Oxides.

To create the aperture for the shaker element of the first tag, I used a Nesting Circles Die. I then stamped the tag with Galina's Snowflakes in Distress Oxide Twisted Citron. I spattered a bit of DO Vintage Photo and Black for more interest.

I used the Wonderful Christmas & Dies, stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, for the sentiment. Hint: I've hidden a tiny foam dot behind the sentiment to give a slight dome effect and allow the shaker bits to merrily shake away.

I colored up the Poinsettia Blooms and Hamster Family images as well as the Holiday Lights diecut with Copics.

For the second tag, I used an A2 Layers Die to create a rectangular aperture. I sponged the tag base with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina and spattered it with water. I stamped some of the smaller Galina's Snowflakes with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink onto the background and used Salvaged Patina to stamp some on the white portion of the tag.

Btw, the hidden piece of foam is behind the Christmas tree on this one. I'm so sneaky!

I hope to see you playing along with the challenge.  Have a great rest of your day!
