CAS on Friday #284 - Hugs

The focus of the latest CAS on Friday #284 is hugs.  Lots of possibilities with this one in my head and I hope in yours!

I used the Whimsy Nordic Background Slimline stamp to create an ombre ground which is just so fun and so pretty.  I colored up the Sunny Studio image using coordinating Copics.  Chilly but ever so cute!

HLS Watercolour - Emboss

It's time for another Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge (with optional "emboss" topping or anything goes)!  

I created a sponged ink ombre blue background on the card front then mounted the WPlus9 Pine Frame onto it.  I used the same inks on the sentiment, The Greetery's Simply Wonderful, which I mounted on top of a pierced oval diecut with a few of the Pine Frame extra branches placed around it. So simple and so so pretty!

ATSM #448 - Birthdays

It's birthday time at the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge.  I created a berry sweet (tee hee!) birthday card that's perfect for summer. 

I started by cutting out a lot of strawberries which I sponged with Catherine Pooler Rockin' Red for brightness and Distress Oxide Aged Mahogany for shading. I didn't to add too much bulk so for the seeds I colored a piece of printer paper in black as a backing for the strawberries.

The LF Quilted Hearts Backdrop reminded me of the seeds plus mirrored the basket grid pattern. I thought about making it on white on blue but thought it would be too visually cluttered.  I'll save that for a different card.  

I originally cut the LF Birthday out of Doodlebug Lily White Glitter Cardstock but decided it didn't show up enough so used it as a sassy shadow for the one I ombre colored.

Jingle All the Way

I finally got some black foil and had a play. Only the sentiment is foiled. The snowflakes are various inks.

I'm entering this in Winter Wonderland Christmas Music or Songs and Sparkles Christmas #126 More Than 1 Snowflake.

Whimsy - Ombre Cupcake

I'm posting another of the Whimsy October 2019 Retreat Make 'n' Takes I had done. I looooove this cupcake set--so many possibilities!

A list of supplies needed is at the bottom of this post.  Enjoy!

1. Using Versamark, stamp your chosen cupcake randomly onto the card front with one centered in the upper half of the card. 
2. Also stamp the sentiment onto black cardstock using Versamark.
3. Heat emboss both with Ranger White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder.
4. Brush the card front lightly with water.
5. Using a flat brush, apply Distress Oxide in broadstrokes, overlapping colors to create an ombre effect. Set aside to dry.  Once dry, spatter the card front with water if you like.





6. Stamp your chosen cupcake onto the 3 x 3" square of watercolor cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black.
7. Watercolor the cupcake using Distress Oxides.
8. Once the image has dried, trim the excess cardstock from the cupcake image and adhere it over the centered cupcake image as shown.





9. Die cut the sentiment using a Quick Strips oval.
10. Die cut a Quick Strips flag banner from the strip of white cardstock. Cut it in half vertically.
11. Adhere the card front to the card base.
12. Adhere the flag banner, pulling out the two sides so it spans the card width.
13. Adhere the sentiment oval over the flag banner, hiding the missing portion and creating a "belt."

• A2 card base
• Watercolor cardstock (4.25 x 5.5" for card front & 3x3" square for cupcake)
• Black cardstock (1.5 x 3") 
• White cardstock (1 x 4")
• Adhesive
• Versamark
• Versafine Onyx Black
• Ranger White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder 
• Distress Oxides of your choice for the background (Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Mustard Seed used here)
• Acrylic block or other waterproof surface to use a painter's palette. 
• Broad flat brush (3/4" used here) or waterbrush
• Craft scissors

SOSS #137 - M is for Menopause

I don't know about you but I'm nearing the age where I'll be able to totally relate to the latest Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge #137:  M for Menopause. Ack!

I had this Absolutely Fabulous Edina and Patsy image that I've been wanting to use for the longest. It goes perfectly with the HA snarky sentiment, doesn't it? Those gals just don't give a $&#*. I don't now and can only imagine what it will be like when I do hit menopause.  Best stand back!

ATCAS #156 - Ombre

Are you ready for a new Addicted to CAS challenge, pardners?  The code word is "ombre," one of my favorite techniques.  Plus, it's rather punny:  hombre, ombre.  Get it?   I didn't say it was a good pun.

I used a circle die to create a mask through which I sponged the ombre purple. In real life, it gets noticeably lighter toward the top. Then I colored up the MFT image and stamped the sentiment. Super easy, right?

SOSS #130 - O is for Ombre

Time for a new Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge which is all about ombre! This is one of my favs because you can do so much with it. The colors, of course, but you could play upon hombre/ombre. You're welcome to the idea!

My card features stenciling in ombre-style along with a grumpy duck who is as ready for sunny weather as I am. So ready!!!

I like coloring ducks.  They require so few Copics.  :)
