Whimsy - Even Santa Poops

The second Whimsy release of the month is upon us and it's a whopper. Eww.  Poor choice of words on my part.  LOL.

I used the new Slimline Scenic Window Die to create a slimline card with my favorite holiday colors of red and aqua.

I colored the Loads of Cheer with Copics.  Did you notice I masked out that Santa was smoking?  Smoking is soooo gross.

I used the Cosmic Swirl Background as peppermint (yum!) and embossed the sentiment on top so it would really pop.

I added a mouth and sentiment from Gossip Girls; I mean, who wouldn't be freaked out by Santa pooping on their roofs? LOL.

I Don't Mind Being a "Witch"

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #456 for this one, turned on its side.  Love how it turned out.  And, yes, those spiders on the background paper have flowers on their butts.

I used Simon Says If the Hat Fits along with Whimsy Stamps Halloween Creatures Stencil and the new to me Whimsy Build a Graeyard Dies.

I colored up the image using Copics, masked it and used Distress Oxides with an Echo Park stencil for the plaid.  I love that plaid. I think the Whimsy cat and dangling spiders (shiver) really make the card shine tho. The card is creepy but not too.

Simple One Layer Christmas

I've been finishing up some holiday cards from my queue from last year.  These just required a bit of watercolor and little snowflakes.  These images are Hello Bluebird.

Thankful Cat

My local friends and I are getting together for a crafty Zoom session this weekend.  This is one of the MnTs. I mixed it up by including a variety of Stampendous cats, things they're holding, sentiments and papers (except for that super cute kitty face paper which everyone gets because how could I not?).

I'm really looking forward to seeing whether the ladies stick with this design or do their own thing.

Whimsy - Giant Comics

Squeee!  Isn't this new Whimsy Stamps Comic Book Page image amazing?  Reminds me so much of childhood. I always loved comics and cartoons so I had to go all out with this card.

The central image is from the Bam! You're Old set. I love how she leaps through the page at you. I colored up everything with Zigs so I could make the cover looks a bit battered easily.

I used the Comic Halftone and Brick Pattern Stencils with Distress Oxide Salty Ocean and Fired Brick for some cool visual texture. I especially love the brick, like she's bursting through a wall.

I'll be back with another Whimsy card later today.  In the meantime, why don't you take a gander at the other goodies in the Whimsy shop.

Whimsy - Cold Outside

I'm using the new Whimsy Gossip Holiday Girls along with the new Slimline Cityscape Dies for this card. Do you remember the movie about the really tall woman (50 foot woman?).  This reminded me of that era.  Can you image how cold she would get. The sentiment on the Comic Speech Bubbles Dies says it all!

I colored her up with Copics, of course, and placed her on top of a fantastic snowy blue sky. I love how that turned out with the different colored snowflakes and spatters.

Whimsy - Rustic Watermill

Wow!  Whimsy Stamps has a truly amazing new release today. I had a hard time choosing which card to feature first. But, choose I did.

I stamped the Rustic Watermill image onto watercolor paper and colored it up with Zigs. I thought I had written those down but can't find the numbers now. :(

Then I cut out the panel with a Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die and distressed the edges--yeah, old school shabby.

I embossed the Butterflies sentiment on a brown Quick Strip and had planned to use just that but it lacked oomph so I added a piece of washi.

I'm really pleased how this turned out. That washi really tied it all together for me.
