More Warm Wishes

I find coloring to be very calming. I need to concentrate (but not too much) as I choose colors, direction of light, layout, etc. Exactly the distraction I needed this weekend. I especially loved thinking about how the firelight would cast a warm glow and how that glow would affect the colors perceived by the eye. And the embossing gave amazing movement to the fire and rocks as well. Total happenstance.

Indeed, You Sparkle!

My goodness, I had a time with this image. The wings are coated with a Wink of Stella marker that decided to vomit glitter everywhere.  This is my third attempt! Odd too as I've never had a problem before. Maybe I had a death grip on the barrel without realizing. In any, I love the results. Such a cute scene of a little angel sprinkling glittery stars over the winter landscape.

YNS January Preview

I was so excited when I was treated to a sneak of the upcoming Your Next Stamp release. Soooooo cute!  I created this little scene initially without the flooring then thought it needed a bit of oomph, plus why not practice drawing perspective. Thank goodness for YouTube! Once I laid down the first couple of boxes, it was easy peasy. And I love how Ellie turned out. I like that the image is large enough to either color or paper-piece (the apron next time!). And the stove with heart knobs? I'd certainly play with my stove more often if it had those . . . in theory--LOL!

Snowman in a Hot Tub Mug

Brrrrrrr...it is cold outside. It was a whopping 22F this morning at my house and a relatively balmy 30F when I reached Seattle. Yikes! I love the sunlight we're getting and don't mind the cold . . . as long as I'm not in it--LOL.

I must say I'm quite jealous of this snowman in a mug. I can totally picture myself melting away in a hot tub--yes, please!

YNS Challenge #55

Hi everyone!  Today starts YNS Challenge #55 which will run through January 12.  You can choose to use the sketch, the colors, or both. Be sure to check out how we were inpsired and join in the fun!

I chose to use the sketch this time, using an arched die cut out, washi tape, and a glossy heart attached with a ribbon to showcase cute little Ellie and her latte. I imagine her gazing out a window looking at you. Adorable!

Cold Happy Feet

A really quick card today.  I wasn't on planning on adding the additional snowflakes but somebody, cough cough, had smudgy fingers. I like them. The snowflakes. Not so much the smudgy fingers. Of note here is that the penguin is stamped on the embossed panel and I used an Exacto to cut out his foot to place over the hill.
