Happy Birthday to My Sweet Koi

I mean boy, my sweet boy(friend). LOL. I had such great fun with this one--Lindy's Magicals worked so well for the random koi colors and Brushos for the water.  I was trying to make it look like the koi had  just splashed down. Do they do that?  To be honest, the big ones freak me out with their giant mouths and how you can see all the way inside. Shiver.

I took another shot to try to capture the iridescence of the Magicals. You'll need to squint and pretend--just couldn't! I do love the texture of the Hero Arts Koi die, don't you? Really makes it seem lifelike--shiver.

Now off to package this up. His birthday is today!

I'm entering this in Seize the Birthday without topping, Make My Monday #42 White Embossing, SIP 91 Happy Birthday

The Details:  Hero Arts Koi, Simon Says Uplifting Thoughts, Brushos Aqua, Hi Maintenance Magenta and Bling-y Blonde, Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper, Versamark, Memento Tuxedo black (interior), Waffle Flower Bowtiful sentiment (interior), Stampendous Detail Fine White Embossing Powder

  1. Haha - you are freaked out by the sweetest, most docile fish around. I'm sure your koifriend will love it! That background is all sorts of splashy fantasticness!

  2. I like the fish on your card, and I like koi to a degree. But yeah...I wouldn't want to look down into them. For me, it's chickens. Hate 'em. Unless they're in the oven, lol! Seriously though, this is gorgeously done. The fish looks like he's reflecting the colors of the sun, and the water is fabulous. I'll bet your bf will love it. Bev
