Beautiful Day

We're about midway through The Heart Desires Challenge #4 so come join in!  You can choose to use the colors, (sun)flowers, and/or the sketch so lots to choose from.

I chose flowers for both of my cards but went in totally different directions with them.  I am loving Concord & 9th, aren't you?  Classy yet fresh, and very versatile.  I colored the first card with Copics and went really bold with this wedding card with the black.  Sigh.  So much POP!

For the second card, I used the flowers again and went monochromatic with gold.  Mmm, gold.  I stamped and embossed the wildflowers, then stamped and embossed the sentiment over the top of it.  Love how tactile it is.  A strip of washi on the cardbase and voila!

Special Stamplorations Blog Hop!

Welcome to a special Stamplorations blog hop to celebrate the release of a fabulous new Christmas tree set and matching dies!  Check it out!  I love how bold and whimsical they are, don't you?

I stamped the trees and sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper I had done with Brushos.  I cut the Christmas tree out and then spattered the lot with Copic Opaque White, my favorite white for snow.  I also applied red Stickles and a star sequin.  So cute!

Stamplorations CAS September Mid-Challenge Reminder!

We're about half way through the Stamplorations CAS Optional Pink Challenge.  I'm sad to see this one coming to a close but you still have time to join in the fun!

This card started out as a line of blossoms down the side of the card front.  Booooring.  It just wasn't IT.  So I used a fab Cutplorations die to cut out a panel at an angle. Ahh, much more interesting.  I added the sentiment (love the fonts!) and highlighted "happy" with happy yellow.  I then mounted the lot on foam on another Cutplorations die cut from the packaging of a Pretty Pink Posh product (die I think??).  Love!

Sweet as Pie

This card is for my sweetie pie who is a lover of all things tart, including granny apples and me!

I stamped and masked the mini scene then colored it up with Copics.  I then diecut the two panels and attached them to the card base.  The sentiment is embossed with a piece of gold heart washi beneath. So cute!

You'll see that I used the colors from the current The Heart Desires Challenge as well as bringing in apples and black striping.  Have you joined in yet?  Come on over!

Welcome, Autumn!

I could not resist snagging the Stamptember Birch Tree Window die from SS (along with a bunch of other things!!!) because I knew it would pair perfectly with the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Fall paper from The Heart Desires. OMG, I love it!  I hadn't planned on this being a shaker but since I was going to be lifting the birch panel anyway, why not?  I used mini sequins from Michael's of all places. The perfect color and they're hearts!  If you look closely at the pic, you can see that I added texture to the mouse's outfit--like boiled wool.  Mmm, warm and cozy!  A few popped up leaves add some interest too!

The Heart Desires Challenge #4!!

The Heart Desires Challenge #4 is coming at you with a bright and bold inspiration picture!  The elements to choose from are the colors, (sun)flowers and/or sketch.

I chose to use the bold stripes and flowers in my card using lots of Concord & 9th goodies.  Check out the Stripe Builder set--so easy to create a custom striped background.  I did find inking up the stamp with Versamark and then the Versafine resulted in better opacity.  Thanks to Jennifer McGuire for that tip.  I used Copics to color the vase and flowers and added some Wink of Stella to the water for a bit of shine.  I also used a thin gold strip and matching dots for bling.

Autumn Leaves

I love using Brushos with stencils.   I find its best to put a little bit of removable adhesive on the back of the stencil so it's less likely the watercolor will seep where it shouldn't.   When it does though it lends to the artsy feel so don't sweat it.   For the leaf, I sprinkled Brushos on scrap watercolor paper, spritzed, dried then die cut.   Love the random pattern so much!    I thought the Avery Elle border die would be perfect to create the sentiment strip.  Look at those pierced dots--what a great detail--so I used a pierced dot rectangle border too.
