Bright Poinsettias

I LOVE the Pinkfresh Studio Poinsettia Frame set!  I've been using it as is for letterpressing and hotfoiling but also masking off part of it to make a single border on a card.  I'll show those another day.

For this one I used the below inks.  You'll find the rest of the products listed at the bottom of this post.
  • Catherine Pooler Oh Boy!, Something Borrowed, Bellini, Coral Cabana, Mandarin Spice, Buttercream, Lime Rickey, and Grass Skirt
I'm entering this in Jingle Belles Banner Holiday.  Isn't that banner gorgeous?

For my second card I hot foiled in gold then used shades of pink and green on the blossoms.  So very soft and pretty with just a bit of bling.

  • Catherine Pooler Cotton Candy, It's a Girl, Be Mine, Buttercream, Tiara, Melon Ice, Lime Rickey, and Oh Boy!

The leftover hot foil I then reverse hot-foiled onto glossy photo paper that you get with printers.  Or at least back in the day it would come with printers.  I was so impressed with hot well the glossy paper did and will use it in the future for reverse hot foiling for sure.

We're Talking Turbo Trees

The As You See It Challenge #337 Turbo Trees calls for you to make a card with trees in under 10 minutes. My card took me 7m34s.  Not too bad at all.  A good 2-3 minutes of that was embossing the sentiment and cutting it out (crookedly!).

I've listed the products used below.
  • Tim Holtz Stamptember 2017
  • Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina
  • Catherine Pooler In the Park, Mardi Gras, and Deck the Halls
  • Versafine Clair Nocturne

Cheesy Postage

I've been using the Waffle Flower Postage Collage sets a LOT lately.  This time I paired it with Lawn Fawn. I used the coloring stencils too.  A huge time saver but I don't think I will use them except for larger things like the cheese tree in the future so I can add little details like blush and shading more easily. I say that now!

Crawl-some Christmas

I like stretching my supplies to assuage my guilt for buying sets that are rather specific. The Lawn Fawn Sweet Spiders made that much easier with their cuter than cuteness. Yes, I just said that about a spider!

And, while I've got the supplies out, I may as well make another card.  You know what I'm talking about.

I love that glittery web and pink accents.  So cute!

ATSM #482 - Christmas

I made two cards using one diecut for the latest Addicted to Stamps & More Christmas Challenge #482.

I used the positive diecuts for the silver and blue card then absolutely refused to let that glamorous bedazzling negative go to waste so created an elegant black and silver version.

I've listed the products used below.  In some cases, affiliate links are included. If you use these links to shop I may earn a small commission at NO cost to you.

  • Spellbinders Stylish Merry Christmas
  • Spellbinders 3D Beveled Diamonds
  • Spellbinders 3D Scenic Poinsettias
  • Neenah Metallic Cardstock
  • Simon Says Silver Holographic Cardstock
  • Distress Oxide Stormy Sky & Prize Ribbon

Lots of Noels

I picked up this Spellbinders Festive Noel BetterPress Press Plate on sale recently (clearance for the win!).  I used a variety of inks including Catherine Pooler and Ranger Archival with the intention of watercoloring.

The only one I ended up watercoloring with Iuli shimmer watercolors is the red one.  Who has time for all those tiny details with Christmas practically tomorrow?!  I used a variety of frames, mostly from Hello Bluebird, to sass them up instead.

Christmas Postage: Poinsettias

I have a lot of the Waffle Flower Postage Collage sets so have been going to town with color combos.  I'm showing the results of the poinsettia stencils today.

With the first card I went with a muted blue/brown color combo that comes off a bit countrified.  I like it lots.
  • Catherine Pooler Dress Blues & Stone Blue
  • Distress Ink Vintage Photo, Antique Linen
  • Distress Oxide Weathered Wood

Next I worked up one with a more traditional but still fresh color combo (bottom right).

  • Distress Ink Antique Linen, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed, Festive Berries, and Worn Lipstick

The top left card is my fav of the lot.  I was inspired by the JAI colors below brightened up a bit with Catherine Pooler inks.

  • Catherine Pooler Flirty Fuschia, Pucker Up, Melon Ice, Cumberbund, and Party Dress

I'm entering the top one in Just Add Ink #729 Colour.

Winter Pines

Last year, I think, I made a panel with Brushos and cut them out with rounded rectangle dies which I then couldn't figure out what to do with.

This year I pieced those panels back together and diecut them again using Memory Box Frosted Christmas Trees dies.  Rather than using the included snow layer, I instead used Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff which is fluffin' amazing!

I'm entering this in Paper Players #716 Clean and Simple, Shopping Our Stash #535 Masculine, and Fab 'n' Funky #605 Dies and/or Punches.

I've listed the products used below.
  • Memory Box Frosted Christmas Trees
  • Penny Black Background Basics Stencils & Masks
  • Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders
  • Taylored Expressions Get Cozy
  • Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff
