Merry Sled

My partner said this isn't my usual style as it's rather traditional.  I think I'll keep him. I hadn't realized he had paid enough attention to know my style! LOL.

This would make a great make 'n' take with people able to color the sled and greenery as they wished as well as choose their own background paper.

Birthday Frogs

I made this for a friend of mine for her birthday.  Needless to say, there's an inside joke involved. These quirky frogs will definitely give her a chuckle.

G-day, Mate!!

G'day, friends! I am a total fangirl when it comes to the Outback (romanticized, of course--poisonous everythings can keep to themselves, thank you very much).

Well, when I saw this set from Sunny Studio with its ultra cute critters, especially a chunk of a WOMBAT, I had to play with it! One of my favorite animals is a wombat. I wonder if it's like hugging a giant furry loaf when you hold them. LOL.

Let's start with the card base where I stamped the Sunny Studio Tropical Scenes island, colored up as a watering hole in my scene with that iron-rich soil I associate with the outback. Next I used Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina with the MFT Mini Cloud Edges stencil.

I used the Sunny Studio Comic Strip Speech Bubble Die backed with an acetate panel to create a flat shaker. As long as you're using flat flat sequins, there's no need to use foam tape.

But, what you can do instead, like I did here, is diecut the Sunny Studio Comic Strip Speech Bubble Die again and adhere it beneath.  It adds only a small bump up but it's the perfect amount to let your flat sequins shake freely.

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Have a great rest of your day!

I'm entering this in Just Add Ink #566 Frame, As You See It #256 Zoology, and Happy Little Stampers August 2021 Anything Goes with Dies.

SOSS #191 - F for F Words

Are you effing ready for another fun and fabulous Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge? Our theme for #191 is F for F Words. So very many to choose from; you can see some great ones listed on the background behind Edna in our graphic.

I cannot tell you how many pieces of vellum I used trying to get the sentiment just right--apparently I've come to rely on auto-correct more than I realized!

Foiled Joy

I've lost track of my 5 cards/month Christmas goal but pretty sure I'm doing okay.

I experimented with a new hot foil plate--changing out foil color, types of cardstock, and cardstock color.  My favorite combo is pink and gold as always but I really liked the one on the far right which was rose gold on a pale blush color. I layerd it on Neenah metallic (shimmer) cardstock and it's fabulous.

HLS Christmas - Wonderland

This month's Happy Litte Stampers Christmas Challenge has the optional theme of Wonderland.  I immediately thought of a peaceful winter scene which I created using a combination of Stampin' Up and Lavinia stamps.

I added white highlights to the stag and spattered both water and then Copic Opaque White for snow.

I hope to see you playing along with us this month!

Wild Birthday

I spied the Lawn Fawn Wild for You set in my stash and thought it would go so well with the tropical theme from the most recent release.

I sponged the card base with Distress Oxides (listed below) using the Lawn Fawn Tropical Leaves Background Stencils. I then adhered a piece of acetate beneath the Lawn Fawn Four Square Landscape Backdrop in preparation for the shaker element. I used 1/8" Scor-Tape to secure both the acetate and the card front to the base after sprinkling a few sequins.

I stamped the Lawn Fawn Wild for You and Lawn Fawn Toucan Do It images using Memento Tuxedo Black, my go-to when coloring with Copics.

I had used the Lawn Fawn Tropical Leaves Backdrop die previously and kept the extras for just such an occasion as this fun shaker card. I sponged the vines and leaves with Distress Oxides and added them to the card, creating lots of visual movement and added depth.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Lawn Fawn Wild for You words with Versamark on black cardstock and embossed them with Ranger Super Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. I remembered to use my Inkadinkado Embossing Magic Pad so kept the static to a minimum!

I sponged the Lawn Fawn Oliver's Stitched ABCs with Distress Oxides and mounted onto black cardstock to create a shadow effect and help make the letters stand out.

This card was definitely a labor of love and will be going to a crafty friend who will appreciate the card in all of its tropical glory.
