Cards in Envy Winter Chills
Cards in Envy Challenge time! Ready to show us your winter chills? Brr!
I did no-line coloring for my card as an experiment with browns. It was a challenge using such dark colors for fur. A really good image for no-line coloring: not a lot of detail. Plus soooooo cute!
The Details: Lawn Fawn Beary Happy Holidays, Copics, Distress Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass, Memento Love Letter and Bahama Breeze, Copic Multiliner 3.0

Winter Cloches
I am just now getting around to putting away the bits that made up these so that hopefully I will remember I have a few leftovers and can make a couple for 2018. Let's not bet on that tho!
- The blue on the second cloches was achieved by dripping Copic pale blue Various Ink on the back half of the dome.
- The interior is hot-glued to a base of thick white cardstock before being hot-glued in place in the cloche.
- The snow was added to the dome, upside down, then the base was added so there's no snow spillage. Use the hot-glue to seal the top to the bottom of the cloche or else it will eventually open (ask me how I know).
- You can place a ribbon or strip of paper etc around the rim of the pedestal for further deco. I intend to . . . once I find the perfect whatever it might be.
I'm entering these in Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes, Mod Squad Add Snow
The Details: The cloches and the the tree die on the one in the back are from PTI. The white deer is Tim Holtz. The trees and brown deer are ones I got from Michaels. The Seattle skyline is Savvy. The snow is from Hobby Lobby???

Watercolor Snowflakes
These were intended to be quick cards but so weren't all due to me. I had the "brilliant" idea of keeping the negative portion to use for another card--can you picture how cool that would be? In concept. In reality, all I did was curse because on the first card, featured at the bottom, I had used Ranger watercolor paper which proved too thick for the die to cut through despite my metal shim etc etc. All good, still turned out great. For the other two cards I used my fav Canson 90lb watercolor paper which cut like a dream BUT I forgot to use that cling stuff to keep the pieces intact so I spent a good chunk of time trying to do it manually. Just say no!
The Details: Lil Inker Snowflakes Die, Lindy's Magicals Drop Dead Diva, Stamplorations Let It Snow Die, Penny Black sentiment, Ranger White Embossing Powder, Versamark, Ranger watercolor paper (bottom card), Canson 90lb watercolor paper for the other two, Pretty Pink Posh snowflake sequins

Peaceful Winter Scene
Another nature card, inspired by a pic I saw on Pinterest. I haven't used my brayer in a coon's age! Or an embossing folder as a focal point for that matter! I tried a few different color combos and inks; this was by far the best results.
The Details: Sizzix/Stampin Up Woodland Embossing Folder, Stampin Up Lovely As a Tree, Distress Ink Hickory Smoke, Memento Tuxedo Black, Avery Elle Peace Die, Impression Obsession Small Bird Set Dies

For this card I was thinking of the Aurora Borealis and how to quickly create that. I used leftover ink on the edges of my Ranger round applicators and just swiped at an angle. No reinking, no muss, no fuss.

CDD December Mood Board 2
Here's another card for the Craftin Desert Divas Social Media Mood Board Challenge (use #cddchallenge to enter). This time I was inspired by the traditional holiday images and colors. Have you seen the new Winter Village Digi? It really is a whole village of different buildings and accessories that you can mix and match and resize as needed. Fab! I paired it with a sentiment from Oh What Fun for an elegant and simple holiday card very much needed for my stash. :)

Wobble Bear
This card uses a background that was a total accident. I was trying to get a slightly different shade of purple so was sponging it again when I realized I had shifted the stencil a bit. Well, one thing led to another and next thing you know I had a cool dimensional effect. The skiing bear is, of course, on a wobble, but you don't need to wobble it to make it look like the card is in motion. Tee hee!
I'm entering this in SIP #128 Let It Snow, Shopping Our Stash #332 I Like to Move It
The Details: MFT Skisons Seasons, Newton's Nook Snowflake stencil, Lawn Fawn plaid paper, wool felt, Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black, Mini Wobble, Distress Inks
CDD December Release Recap
Today I'm recapping the Craftin Desert Diva goodies I showcased last week now that they're available in the shop. It's fun to be teased with what's coming but even more fun to be able to shop!
In this card I did direct to stencil inking with Versamark, leaving the corner of the Hearts Galore Stencil more or less bare for the sentiment. The combo of the warm gold and red wows me. Even better tho is the contrast of the gold mirror cardstock Nested Hearts Die against the matte gold embossing. Yum! And what a perfectly simple and elegant frame for the Better Together image!
The Details: Craftin Desert Divas Better Together, Nested Heart Dies and Hearts Galore Stencil, Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Red Geranium and Princess Gold Embossing Powders, Recollections Gold Mirror Board
With this card I wanted to experiment with Distress Oxides. I usually create my galaxy backgrounds using multiple layers of watercolor but this proved even easier! I sponged an initial layer down on navy cardstock then spattered with Copic Opaque White for stars. I then sponged again with brighter tones to create a nebula. I spattered again to create added depth--some of the stars as seen through the nebula and some closer. Cool! I was able to emboss the sentiment and rub some of the Oxide off for emphasis then it was a quick pop up of the Far Out astronaut (astro-yes!) to finish the card.
The Details: Craftin Desert Divas Far Out, Versamark, Ranger Detail White Embossing Powder, Copics, Copic Opaque White, Memento Tuxedo Black
In my first card, I stamped a few extra hearts and the sentiment from Hugs and Kisses before impressing the largest of the Nested Hearts Dies. I love the effect! And I love the effect of having some of the heart bubbles in the background so it appears they're floating away. So very cute!
