I was inspired by the colors of the latest Color Throwdown #680. This isn't a real snow globe shaker.  I spattered the stenciled panel with white ink as well as the top of the acetate for a layered effect.  Sneaky!

ATCAS #214 - Snowflake

Can you believe it's time for another Addicted to CAS Challenge already?!  Our code word is "snowflake."

I embossed a piece of watercolor cardstock with snowflakes, masked it then applied brushos.  Once the lot was dry, I embossed the sentiment. Super easy so I might riff on this for another card or two.

Btw, I buffed the embossed snowflakes with a paper towel after taking the photo and they're whiter now.  Something to keep in mind if you decide to try something like this.

Upcycled & Fancified

I glammed up my recently purchased Big Shot Switch over the weekend.  The gold foliage really helps break up all that salmon pink (I assure you the salmon is more intense in real life).  Much happier with the overall look now. 

I decided to experiment with the diecuts resulting from the gold foil having a backing paper.  I just popped on a pair of gloves and went to town applying alcohol ink from fingertips to paper.  

The backing is very slick and wanted to bead up which I took in stride. It certainly dried quickly enough and I could have completely covered the foliage with more alcohol ink had I wished to wait but who has time for that?!  LOL.

I popped the foliage on a hot-foiled honeycomb coverplate and added a diecut sentiment.  Swoon!

HLS Christmas - Snowflakes

For this round of the Happy Little Stamps Christmas Challenge it's the usual Anything Goes and this time with the option of using Snowflakes.  Umm, yes, please!

I picked up the TE Snowflake Create-in-Quads Layering Stencils as soon as I spied them. They're brilliant! I haven't finished the other 3 snowflake card fronts yet but be sure that I will. 

Here I paired the colorful snowflakes with a vellum overlay and the Lawn Fawn Let It Snow die cut out of a sassy glitter cardstock from Memory Box.

Are you ready for another Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge?  This time we have #422 Christmas.

I masked off my card base and sponged the Pinkfresh Studio Wintry Forest Stencils with a few Catherine Pooler inks as well as Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina.  I spattered a few Copic Opaque White snowflakes for good measure.
