Citrus Blossoms

I loved the colors for the current Color Throwdown #653 Pink, Orange, Yellow & Green. Am I interpreting correctly that 653 means there have been 653 CTD challenges?  Wow. This must be one of the longest running challenges out there then. Kudos to the organizers!

I'm entering the below card although I made two cards using the palette.  Love me some citrus.

I used the Pinkfresh Studio Miss Your Smile image, stampig it with Versafine Onyx Black and drawing in the tip of the far right leaf myself using a 0.3mm Copic Multiliner.  Recall this set is slimline but don't let that stop you from using it on a different size card. Copic Multiliner to the rescue!

I colored up the image using Zig Real Brush 010, 025, 047, and 050. I used the Aall Create Heapza Hexagon stencil with Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade to add just a touch of color (and to cover up a bit of watercolor boo boo--shh, our secret).

Now I included the photo above so you can see my quick method for masking when I'm going to spatter a card for added interest. I just lay the stamp face down and spatter away. The excess ink wipes right off.  My spatter box keeps the mess contained too, a must for messy me.

I added the Pinkfresh Studio Small Butterfly hot foiled in black and watercolored with Zigs. The Pinkfresh Studio Perfect Sentiments were also hot foiled in black

See how glossy and fabulous the black foil is from a different angle.  You can also see the Clear Wink of Stella I added to the butterflies on my second card.

For the second card I used the same images and hot foil plates but I used Copics to color. I used the Copic Multiliner 0.3mm to draw in the same leaf (far right) as well as missing parts of the yellow blossom.

I really enjoyed making these cards and hope you enjoyed reading about them. Have a great rest of your day!

Happy Birthday Floaters

I crafted on Sunday with my sister for a bit via Zoom which was really nice. Not as nice as when she was here in person a few weeks ago, but I'll take what I can get. :)

I'm entering this in Seize the Birthday #219 Travel (or Anything Goes).

Lots of Love with Lots of Butterflies

Some birthday purchases came in recently and I went all out on this fun little card.  Let's just say my birthday presents to myself were quite generous. :)

I stamped the Pinkfresh Studio Small Butterflies and used the coordinating layering stencils with Distress Oxides to create the background.  Then I used the coordinating hot foil plate with acetate and gold foil for the shaker panel. The narrow border hides the Scor-tape.

Finally I sponged a leftover piece of cardstock with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet to use with the Pinkfresh Studio Lots of Love dies.  I used Recollections gold mirrorboard for the letters.

Surprisingly, I also got the sequins from Michaels--Recollections brand. Apparently some sort of make your own tumblers and such is all the rage, so they have a really large selection of fancy sequins quite suitable for shakers. Get them while you can.
