Sweet Day

I have such a sweet morsel of a card to show you today.  It was super fun to work up and quick too.  This one has been tucked into my pick-me-up category in my card file.  I love the Great Impressions E842 sentiment's versatility.   You could use it as is as I've done here or you could use snippets of it like "Wishing you a wonderful day" or "Wishing you a happy day" or "Sweet you."  Did I tell you it was versatile or what?

Now hop on over to the Paper Sweeties blog and join in the fun challenge they've got going on. Check out that inspiration pic--love the colors and the petal frosting.  Petal. Frosting.  Can it get any cuter?  I think not!

The latest Great Impressions challenge starts very soon so be sure to stop by there too!

Breaktaking Sunrise

Hello!  Time for another Great Impressions card for you.  I absolutely love the F252 Life is Not Measured sentiment I used.  Love, love, love.  I wanted the sentiment to take center stage so I did a simple background watercolor wash with Distress Inks to represent a beautiful sunrise.  Doesn't the sentiment just capture that feeling so well?  I have filed this card in my any occasion section but will keep it in mind for sympathy too.  Such a versatile sentiment.

See you next week with another GI designToni

Butterfly Freedom

Hello!  Time for another Great Impressions card for you.  I love how this turned out.  Lots of white space but full of texture that works so well with the E149 Said the Butterfly sentiment stamp, don't you think?  I added a few tiny butterflies for a jot of color and used a dark blue ink for the sentiment rather than my usual black.

See you next week with another GI design!  Toni

Find Beauty

A few weeks ago I got together with the PNW Crafters for the first time over at Amy's house.  Yay!  It was lots of fun with lots of chatting, sharing and crafting.  Katie (I think) had brought along a Hero Arts sentiment which I stamped a couple of times to play with later.  And play I did.

I used one of my new Memory Box dies, coloring it with Copics.  I thought a bold b/w stripe paper would spark it up nicely but didn't have any so worked up my own.  The MISTI helped a lot with this to allow me to stamp multiple times for uniform coverage and easy alignment.  I popped up the main panel with sticky fun foam and adhered the flower stem in just a couple of spots.  Love how this turned out!

The Details:  Hero Arts sentiment, MFT plaid background builder, Memory Box die, Copics, PTI 140lb white cardstock base, Recollections 110lb white cardstock panel

Just a Note

Hello!  Time for another Great Impressions card for you.  I love how this turned out.  All that white space really lets the F269 Summertime Flowers stamp sing.  It was super simple to color too which is great when you need a card on the quick--like everyday, right?!  I used Copics but could totally see this being done with watercolors or pencils.  And how about coloring and cutting out an extra butterfly to mount on top for extra dimension?  What about glossy accents on those  So many possibilities!

See you next week with another GI design!  Toni

Hummingbird Thanks

Have you all heard of the C.R.A.F.T. challenge?  This round is all about saying thanks.  I pushed my usual style with this card a bit--notice the use of pre-made flowers?  When I do that last?  But I couldn't help myself since they go so well with the C383 Great Impressions hummingbird stamp, don't they?  AND I happened to have a new stencil that ever so conveniently look like mini flowers.  I worked that up with transparent glossy embossing paste and look how sparkly they are (okay, you can barely see that but, trust me, they would dazzle you).

Pogo Hi

This time inspired by the CASology #154 Repeat challenge.  Did you have a pogo stick growing up?  I don't recall actually owning one but I do remember hopping all over the place on one.  Probably not very successfully--I'm not the most graceful person in the world--LOL.

The Details:  Tiddly Inks Hopping Girl, Lawn Fawn Happy Easter, PTI cardstock base, Hammermill coloring cardstock, Simon Says Stitched Rectangle die, Copic E00, E01, E02, E0000, R22, R24, R27, R29, B21, B23, B24, B26, N3, N5, YR0000, Y21, Y35, YR24, Y18

Ombre butterflies

Hello!  Today Great Impressions has a new and super easy challenge for you--use your favorite stamp.
You don't have to use GI stamps but it'd be totally awesome if you did! Also, if you do use GI stamps, be sure to link up to the customer gallery to show us your fabulous work and for a chance to get a little year-end prize.

For my card I stamped E843 Flowery Butterfly multiple times using ombre colors.  I love how it's abstract and yet not.  I kept the sentiment really simple, snipping out part of the G455 A Flower stamp.  I embossed it and added a tiny white butterfly.

Be sure to stop by again!

Hello, Poppies

So excited!  This marks my first post as a member of the Happy Little Stampers design team.  It's also my birthday tomorrow so what a great way to celebrate!  Insert happy dance!  It would be wonderful if you could celebrate with me and join in the July CAS challenge which is stamping (can't get easier than that!).

For my card, I used a MISTI to stamp these 3 layer flowers (stems, flowers in 2 different colors, centers).  The flowers were a little ho hum in color so I sparked them up using a wash of Copics in Y15 and YR04 (07?).  So much brighter and, dare I say, happier!  My favorite part of the whole thing tho may be the tiny butterfly on the L.

The Details:  PTI Reasons to Smile, Memory Box Dancing Butterflies die, Simon Says Stitched Rectangle die, Memento Tuxedo Black and Dandelion, Copics, Hero Arts Green Hills and Orange Soda, Recollections 110lb white cardstock base, Hammermill cardstock for coloring, Lawn Fawn hello die

Hello, Summer

Hello!  Today marks my first post for Great Impressions! I'm very excited to be part of the design team!  And before I forget to mention it, there's a sale going on right now through Sunday--who doesn't like a good deal?

Here I used G342 Frolicking Trio and C366 Hello Summer.  First I airbrushed the stencil sun then masked off the beams and airbrushed a larger circle because I wanted the girls to be completely within the sun.  I also wanted a sense of movement in the card so I went off the edge with the girls and placed the sentiment where it looks like the lead is reaching for it.  So bright and happy!

Enjoy the Moment . . . Smile

The House of Cards is back from a little summer break and we have a brand new super fantastic challenge for you.  I personally love inspiration pic challenges because you have so many possibilities to play around with.  This time I chose to go with the citrus colors (yum!) on my wildflower background.  I wasn't sure how the "Enjoy the Moment" sentiment would show up but I stamped it a couple of times using the MISTI to make it really bold.  Love!

The Details:  Hero Arts Pale Tomato, Orange Soda, and Everything Flower Background, Memento Dandelion, Recollections 110lb white and black cardstock, PTI Reasons to Smile and Mixed Messages sentiments, Memento Tuxedo Black, Simon Says stitched rectangle die
