Birch Press Design - Sunset Sympathy

It's rainy and gray so I needed some color, lots of color, on my latest Birch Press Design card.

Shimmery 3D Vintage Ornaments

I picked up this amazing Spellbinders 3D Vintage Ornaments embossing folder from Urban Papercrafter in Edmonds, WA, a couple of weeks ago.  Look at that texture--look at it!

For the above card I lightly brushed the embossed panel with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers then rubbed my Memento Brilliance Starlight Silver pad over the top.  Dreamy. 

On this card I used a black cardstock with a white core which I distressed by rubbing my sand erased over the surface to remove the black layer.  I rubbed my Delicata Golden Glitz pad over the top for a truly vintage look.  

For this one I used Distress Oxide Uncharted Mariner on a teal cardstock to create a highlighted area.  Then I used the sand eraser as well as the Tim Holtz edge distresser thingie.

Be Good for Goodness Shake

I participated in a fun crafty zoom session with some friends this past weekend and made a few Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel cards using the new release. Why must they put out new stuff that goes so well with my old stuff?  Make me spend my money!!! LOL.

It's been quite some time since I've done a Reveal Wheel.  In the past, I didn't have any of the round templates to help place the images in the aperture; what a difference those make!  I'm so so hooked now.

I did that thing where you place the die off the edge of the platform when you diecut and then cut out the mountains from the top with another mountain layer beneath.  Aren't they fab?  And they're pink--super fab!

I also made this into a shaker by adding acetate & foam tape behind the bear then layering that on top of the Reveal Wheel aperture.  Neat!

Cloche Shaker

This was an ambitious card, let me tell ya.  

I wanted to put the houses inside the cloche as seen but it didn't occur to me it would require foam tape  because of all the scene layers--DUH.  Once I realized that I figured I may as well turn it into a shaker while I had the foam out.  

My next attempt will be a gingerbread neighborhood using the village.  Now to find the time!

CAS on Friday - Sketch

I'm not a huge fan of sketches but when I saw the sketch for the latest CAS on Friday Challenge #270, I may have become a convert.

Pink Bottle Brush Tree

I love to incorporate pink or aqua into my cards but rarely do I go all pink. I should do it more often.  How fun and cute is this?  It's such a refreshing change from holiday green and red--boooooring.

Birch Press Design - Smooshed Retro Ornament

I was inspired by some of my grandparents' vintage ornaments on my latest Birch Press Design card. Remmeber those ones that were molded or blown shaped glass with a mirror type finish?

Twinkle Lights

Can you say "dramatic?"  The Spellbinders De-light-ful Christmas hot foil plate is amazing!  I LOVE it.  I colored up the lights with Wink of Stella so lots of glittery goodness to go with the gold glitter bases. I then covered the bulbs with Glossy Accents. Shiny, blingy, amazing!

HLS Christmas - Bah Humbug

It's time for another Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge which is always anything goes with an optional topping; this month that topping is "bah humbug."

I got some new goodies from The Greetery, including the Big Beautiful Bow dies.  I paired them with a variety of papers to ever so slowly reduce my paper stash.

I also used different sentiments depending on the layout and my mood.  I particularly like that if you using contrasting paper, you can get two sets of bows with minimal effort.  

I plan to use these bows for additional cards but first want to use some of my other new stuff.  Theoretically.

HLS Watercolour - Emboss

It's time for another Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge (with optional "emboss" topping or anything goes)!  

I created a sponged ink ombre blue background on the card front then mounted the WPlus9 Pine Frame onto it.  I used the same inks on the sentiment, The Greetery's Simply Wonderful, which I mounted on top of a pierced oval diecut with a few of the Pine Frame extra branches placed around it. So simple and so so pretty!
