SOSS #230 - Y for Yuck

Y is for Yuck at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge this fortnight.  

Is there anything grosser than feet? Gag. There are plenty of yucky things out there although feet certainly rank high on my list obviously. Other things include fuzzy teeth, the smell of infection, shit, and so very much more.

Dino-Mite Birthday

Once again, I've worked up a super cute birthday card. Birthday cards are what I send most often after holiday cards and I'm part of the Lawn Fawn Addicts Birthday Group as well--any excuse to share the cuteness!

I started the card by sponging the card front and diecut elements with Distress Oxides with the exception of the mushrooms which I colored with Copics.

What a fun scene to create! And, it was so fun to color. I remember as a kid dinos were boring gray or green without the variety seen in today's reptiles (at least in my head that was so, thanks to Godzilla). Pink brontos? Blue and orange stegasaurus?  Why the heck not!

And let's not forget about that terradactyl with its flashy wing membranes. Sassy!

Simon Says Stamp - Big BDay Vibes

I haven't used the technique where you ink the stamp then spritz it with water before stamping (and I've forgotten what that's called) in a long while but thought it would work particularly well with the SSS Just For You release Sunshine Background rubber stamp.  I used it whole but the stamp can be taken apart such that the rays or circle can be used separately.  Clever!

I paired it with the Simon Says Stamp Big Old Birthday and Lightweight Clear Acetate Sheets which I had no trouble embossing for a fun shaker.

Simon Says Stamp - Simply Fabulous

Do you recall the alcohol ink card I made using Simon Says Golden Ticket goodies back in January (and it's already March?!).  When I made the base panel, I actually made two because when you're getting inky messy, you may as well go all out.

This time I used the Simon Says Stamp Simply Fabulous and Simon Says Stamp Parallelogram.  Isn't that sentiment, dare I say, fabulous?  I love the effect with the foiled cardstock. So dimensional!

Simon Says Stamp - Warm Wishes

I got my latest Simon Says Stamp Golden Bone package which made me realize I hadn't done anything with the Be Creative goodies I had been sent last month. Time flies waaaay too fast!

Here I've used the Big and Bold 2 sentiment for my winter scene. Big sentiments like this are perfect so show off glitter embossing powder. Sparkles, baby!

Sew Very Mice

Today's card is one I absolutely love! I thought of my fabric stash when I bought the LF Sew Very Mice set and found this vintage design that reminds me of embroidered cushions or tapestries. How perfect!

I will admit it was a little hard to cut into the fabric though.  Sort of like how I don't want to use up my favorite designer papers. You know what I'm talking about!

I do love how the fabric looks and wish you could feel it.  I used it for the heart as well, thanks to Scor-Tape.

Bright Day at the Fair

Happy Friday! Spring is sort of here in the Pacific Northwest but, of course, it's still rather dreary so I very much needed some bright and colorful vibes. Lawn Fawn was just the ticket!

I started the card by using the LF Slimline Cloudy Stencils with Distress Oxide Mustard Seed on the card base. Yellow clouds? Why not?!

I colored up the LF images using bright pink, blue and green. Those little white "lights" are Ranger Enamel Accents which dry quickly and remain popped up. Perhaps best of all they're shiny.

I used the LF Foursquare die over the card base so I could tuck and lift elements around it to create greater visual depth. Does that upper balloon not look like it's further back and the ticket stand closer to you?  Cool effect.
