2018 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop


I didn't think I had it in me to squeeze in a card for the current Coffee Lovers Hop but it allowed me play with an idea I had had about changing the pumpkin in the MFT Fall Friends set into a snowball so two birds-one stone.

I started the card by watercoloring the girl and squirrel. I lightly drew in snow on the ground but it was just so so plain so I added the birch trees. Less plain but still plain. Horizon then. Meh. Purple reflection. Okay, cool. Sunrise.  Cooler yet. Impression of a sun with the yellow. Shabam. And finally the various shadows. Happy sigh.

I'm also entering this in HLS Watercolor Anything Goes Without Optional Stencil Twist.

    This is most definitely perfection, Toni. What an adorable scene, and it's all delightfully done. Down to the little speckles on her tights. A stand-out in the gallery. Great card!! Bev
