Although Valentine's Day is past, I'm still hung up on hearts and more hearts. Could it be because I couldn't resist picking up some Valentine crafty supplies on clearance? Mayhaps! Here I made a heart mask and temporarily adhered it over the Fond Expressions 2 sentiment. Then I randomly placed washi and cut around the mask before lifting it off. Voila! The only thing to remember during the cutting stage is to put a minimal amount of pressure on your craft knife as washi is really thin and you don't want to cut through the cardstock beneath. For my final step I embossed the front of the card with a PTI linen impression plate to complete the homespun look. Love this to the moon and back!
I'm entering this in City Crafter #299 Negativity (use negative space of diecut), Moving Along with the Times #14 Words Only
Very clever use of the heart mask and washi tape. Looks great. Thanks for sharing with us at MAWTT and we would love you to play again next time. Christine Dt x
ReplyDeleteYou should love this to the moon and back because it's gorgeous and very creative. Love how you've used the negative die and the washi tape and also finishing it off with the linen impression plate. Thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card! I really like how you used the negative of the heart mask. So glad you joined the City Crafter Challenge.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a clever idea! I have loads of washi but never know what to do with it so it's only used to adhere dies when die cutting... This is a much better idea!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely and brilliant take on our challenge. Your card is gorgeous! Thanks so much for joining us this week at CCCB!
