The Snuggle Is Real

Late Fall/early Winter baby due at the office and I knew exactly what I wanted to work up when I heard. Love how this turned out! Diecut and embossed the sweaters--if you look at the close up, you can see where I used Distress Ink on the edges to give added dimension to the sweaters.  The baby sweater is colored with Copics to match the LF plaid red. Adorable!

You're Flamin' Fabulous

For my card I had to, just had to, use an umbrella with a flamingo. How fun and whimsical! And somehow so flamingo-like, right? First, I sponged the base blue-gray cardstock with Distress Oxide then spattered with water before embossing with the hearts journal card die. This is framed by the MB collage die--can't you just see the water. My flamingo was next with a bit of sponging. I stamped the beak afterwards so it would remain crispy black. The umbrella uses 3 different patterned papers--I heart this green! The handle is diecut out of black then adhered on top for depth but could easily have been colored in as was the tip of the umbrella. I fussy cut the embossed sentiment in keeping with the curves of the MB collage die then sprinkled a few glitter dots about. So fun!

Oh, right. Check out the flamingo pic below.  This is before I decided to add the Oxide to the background. What a difference, right? You can also see the Wink of Stella better too.

A reminder about the current THD Challenge #13 too!

Hello, Little Monkey

Nothing like using leftovers from a previous card almost immediately to craft another one. Feeling productive!

I used the leftover interior of the panel from the other day's card and paired it with the hello and banner dies also included in the LF Magic Slider die set. This set is like opening up a gift bag that never seems to end! LOL. The tropical panel is inset in the background which has been diecut with hearts. I highlighted the hearts by sponging the card base with Distress Oxides and a touch of Distress Ink to match the tropical panel. Love the unexpected colors! The little monkey is so adorable! I discovered while coloring him that I've lost one of my Copic browns--let's assume cat rather than user error, shall we?

I got most of these products from The Heart Desires so do stop on by.

THD Challenge 13

I cannot believe we have been doing these THD Challenges for a full year.  Goodness!  A sweet card using a sweet set for a sweet challenge! The Heart Desires Challenge #13 served as the inspiration for this card--see the upper left pic? Mmm, sweets. The lollipop as makeshift umbrella from the bottom right pic? Mmm, lolli.

I made this into a nifty shaker by stamping the jar and candies on acetate using Stazon. I mounted the acetate beneath an outline of the jar I had made using my Scan n Cut. Easy peasy. There's chunky glitter in the jar and a sprinkling of candies around. The sentiment is pieced and masked to make a new sentiment--stretch those stamps, people!

You Party Animal

I am all over the new Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider dies. Dude. Life-changing. This would have made my interactive Santa card so much easier.

In my version here, I sponged the base card with a stencil and my favorite Distress Inks. I also sponged the base of the slider mechanism so the background would appear seamless when opened. Relatively seamless anyway. I chose to have the plain lion on the slider then popped in a giraffe and changed out the hashtag on the interior which I colored. The animals were masked then sponged over FYI. I also added a strip of washi grass (also a life-changer!). I created the designer paper border using a fun tropical print and the slider mechanism, cut in half. When you use the die, you'll see what I mean.

I do recommend looking at the video LF put out about it. It helped me a lot to figure out what all the pieces were for.  Much better than Ikea instructions for sure!
