Hello, Sweet Cheeks

CDD January Mood Board 3

Well, poo, this is my last card for the CDD January Social Media Challenge Mood Board (tag #cddchallenge to play). I can't believe the month has flown by so quickly. Wait, yes, I can!

This time I chose a cozy paper to create a snowbank using the Outdoor Landscape 1 Dies hill and had the Craftin Desert Divas Skating By bear gliding by with his penguin buddy.  They're so precious! I love how he seems to be peering out of the card at you.

To keep with the more muted tones, I stamped the sentiment with dark blue. Super cozy!

Guesting at CAS on Friday

I'm super excited to be guesting over at CAS on Friday for Challenge #125 Use Markers or Pencils.  Thanks for having me!

Notice I'm still working up holiday cards as often as I can? Woo hoo!  I masked the Pix sisters and colored them all Pantone 2018 purple with some fuschia thrown in because that's how this bright girl rolls. I thought the background too too white in the photo portion so stenciled it lightly with snowflakes. Much better.

I'm entering this in Simon Says Wednesday Layer It Up, Watercooler Wednesday 154 All About Christmas

The Details:  Mama Elephant Pix's Happy Holiday and Photo Bomb dies, Pretty Pink Posh Holiday Greetings and small photo die (I think), Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black, Newton's Nook Snowfall Stencil, Distress Oxide Salty Ocean, Clarity Brush

Celebrate the Season

Experimenting with creating snowy hill layers. I haven't used the Martha Stewart punch in ages and had forgotten how much I like it. I love regular dies but sometimes using that punch is therapeutic!

Another of my beloved Lil' Inker Seasons Greetings cards.  This would be perfect for our neighbor who is a vet. And apparently reminds me of my great-grandma with that wallpaper. LOL.

Noel

Have you seen this die from Lil' Inkers?  I had to have it!  So cute and clever with lots and lots of design possibilites.  I went ultra simple here with an iridescent ink tree ring (I wish you could see it!) and Rudolph. Done!

CDD January Moodboard 2

Happy birthday, lil' sis!  I made this super cute and fun card for her and someday will even mail it.  LOL.

I had never made a box card before so it was super helpful that the CDD Box Card Die is so easy to use. I did make a practice box to play around with layout of the critters and scene elements then got right down to business.  I love how it turned out and know my sis will too!
  1. Die cut and assemble box. Scor-Tape is the way to go here.
  2. Die cut and adhere panel facings.
  3. Die cut and trim the scene elements to 2.5 inches in width. This will ensure they fit perfectly in the box.
  4. For the back flap, I cut that out again, sponged it, and extended it taller than the regular flaps so it would stick up and the sentiment could be seen better.
  5. Glitter up the scene elements; note the front hill is cut from glitter paper.
  6. Color and adhere the critters.

I used the current CDD Social Media Moodboard as inspiration. Tag #cddmonthly to play along!

Cards in Envy Tuxedo

Time for another Cards in Envy challenge! 2018 is zipping by already!  This time we ask that you use black AND white on your card. A challenge for me as you know I love my colors.

I went modern holiday for my card and love how it turned out. The glitter adds just the right amount of glam. So pretty!

Gray Skies

I'm guesting over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers where the theme for the current challenge is T for Technique.  Just showcase a technique you haven't used in a while or your favorite one and you're all good.

I'm showcasing a gelli print technique I haven't used in a good long while and mixing it up by using a rubber stamp to impress the Seattle skyline.  The background is so bold I left the image plain jane with the spot of yellow for the raincoat.  So needed here in Seattle.  The snarky sentiment, unfortunately, is so true too.  LOL.

I hope you'll play along at the Sisterhood. Who doesn't love some snark?

I used the Get Well set to decorate a tissue box to give to a sick friend but then I got sick and had to use them myself. Poor us!  At least I get to look at cute things as I try to breathe. It will be so good to hear again too!
