Happy Happy Pig Pig

Two cards for you today--both with Sunny Studio Hogs and Kisses piggies but quite different looks.

I used both Avery Elle Holiday Collection and Sunny Studio Very Merry 6x6 papers. I love the checker with the houses--3 little pigs anyone?  Well, 2 little pigs.

This farm-inspired card just makes me happy--so bright and cheery.

I colored up the pigs based on the colors in the Sunny Studio paper.

You know, the Lawn Fawn twine is what really ties (ha!) the card together. I took photos with and without--what a difference.

The second card is a much softer look but then you have that cute little pig taking center place. Hi there!

I used Copic R01, R12, R14, N0, and E43 to color him up. Originally I no-line colored the pig but my hand shakes sometimes, at really convenient moments like when I'm trying to draw in the world's tiniest smile. :)

Did you recognize the Lawn Fawn Flippin' Awesome Add-on as the glitter and snowflake layers? Perfect sizing for the Concord and 9th Joy die (note I provided a link to the Pretty Pink Posh Joy die in the product listing below).

ATCAS #174 - Tree

Our code word this fortnight at Addicted to CAS is "tree."

I had been planning on a Christmas tree or some such but then I saw the MFT Sweet Birthday Wishes tiered cupcake stand.  Stylized tree, check. Balloon star, check.

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black then colored them up with Copics.

I added Zig Wink of Stella Clear on the star, Zig Wink of Stella Gold on the cake stand garland and Ranger Glossy Accents on the frosting lights.

The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  I'll be using this as a holiday birthday card.

Penguin Pool

These Avery Elle Polar Playtime penguins are so so cute! It occurred to me that the MFT Swimming Pool die would be the perfect ice floe for them. I love stretching the use of my supplies in fun ways!

I used two different Avery Elle Holiday Collections 6x6 papers (snowflakes for sky and lines for sea) and plopped the glittered floe over the seam. I then colored up the penguins using Copics.

The MFT Bitty Holiday sentiment is embossed but I didn't pop it up on foam as I sometimes do as there are a lot of layers already.

I'm entering this in TIME OUT #150 Merry and Cheerful, HLS Christmas Anything Goes (with optional candy cane)

Pig Photo Strip

If this card doesn't make you squeal like a pig then I just don't know what to do with you. LOL. I was inspired by a recent Fusion sketch but then went a different direction.

The pigs are separate rather than stamped directly onto the photo backdrop so I was able to use little leftover bits of the Avery Elle Holiday Collection 6x6 Paper for the snowy background. So cute!

I've found my favorite domestic pig colors:  R01 and R12. I think of them as "eating" pigs as these pinky white ones were those raised in the area where I grew up.

I added the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6x6 Paper and Avery Elle Dotted Border scallop along with coordinating Concord and 9th Take a Bough snowflakes. I tried the sentiment as black on white but the white on black embossing just pops. Love!

Whimsy - Ornaments

Hello, everyone! Today we celebrate the new Whimsy December release and it's a doozy.  Here I'm using the Stained Glass Ornaments rubber stamp.

My first pass at coloring used only Zig Real Brush watercolor pens (#020, 027, 032, 035, 041, 044, 052, 063, 092, 260). Nice but not wow.

I added extra shadow and depth using Prismacolor colored pencils (PC 904, 908, 912, 922, 924, 930, 933, 935, 942, 949, 950). Now we're getting there. I love the sketchy vibe.

Lastly I added some Posca white pigment pen accents as well as the Whimsy Merry diecut that I coated with Clear Wink of Stella and cut in black as well to create a shadow. I used Gold and Silver Wink of Stella on some of the ornaments too.
