SOSS #128 - K is for Kitties

Guess what?!  Time for a new Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge.  It's all about the kittehs!

My card started out with one of my Gelli prints that I thought fit the rather Victorian and imperious look of puss puss. He's a bit of a snobby grump so I naturally had to use the Dylusions sentiment. Indeed! (That's printed with my label maker, btw.)

He's so like one of my cats. He wants love 24-7 cat time. LOL.

The Details:  The Cat's Pajamas What the Froth, Ranger Dylusions People . . . Not a Fan, TCW Numbers Stencil, Liquitex Acrylic Paints, Honey Bee Deckle Edge Rectangle Die, Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black

Snail Mail

A couple of weekends ago I got to hang out with some fab crafters and we had so much fun! I was able to play with this cute set, newly released by Trinity Stamps.  Is it not super cute?!

I stamped the scene directly off the acetate with a bit of masking. I used Memento Tuxedo Black for that. Then I used a stencil and a couple of colors of Distress Oxide to do the clouds. I used another shade or two of Distress Oxides to blend in the grass. I didn't bother masking since a little action with a simple eraser will remove most of the DO from any parts you don't want it. (Neat, right?!)

I finally colored up the image using the below Copics. Voila--Valentine card!

Cards in Envy Sketch Challenge

Oh, goodness.  Well, sad to report this is the last Cards in Envy Challenge.  Aren't you bummed?  I certainly am as it's one that I've enjoyed as a player as well as a DT member.  CIE will be missed for sure!

For the last challenge we're going back to the first challenge which was a sketch.

I used the skating pond for the rectangle going across the card and the two girls and bird for the 3 circles. I love that they're holding hands.  So cute!  The pink glitter is actual glitter cardstock; the white is Scor-Tape covered in glitter. The girls are colored with Copics with lots of paper-piecing for their outfits. The sentiment is stamped with Stazon directly onto the glitter. I love how it's subtle but still legible.

The Details:  Hello Bluebird Skating Together and Skating Pond Scene Die, Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6x6 Paper, Pebbles Cozy and Bright 6x6 Paper, Scor-Tape, Doodlebug Design Lily White Glitter, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Memento Tuxedo Black, Stazon Jet Black, Copics

ATCAS #152 - Birds

Are you ready for a new Addicted to CAS Challenge? I am!  The inspiration word is "Birds."

Given that it's winter, I chose to feature a penguin.  They're so very waddly cute. I used Zig watercolor markers again and practiced shading with the black. I'm very pleased with how that turned out.  I'm also using my favorite Persian Blue. Dreamy.  Notice I sponged the back edge of the diecut hill with Distress Oxide to delineate it from the card base. I also drew in some movement lines. Sled fast or go home!

The Details:  Stacey Yacula Studio Sled, Hello Bluebird Skating Party, Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders, Copic Multiliner, Zig Watercolor Markers, Versafine Onyx Black

Whimsy F1 - Ahoy, Matey!

Ahoy, matey!  I'm sharing a card using the Whimsy Stamps February release today.  The Arrgg Pirates set is so cute and it paired perfectly with the Peekaboo Windows 3 die.

I colored up the images using Copics (you'll see pics of the ones I used down below). I used vibrant boy colors thinking I will send this to one of my nephews, if my cat will allow me to part with it. LOL! He was so curious about this particular card for some reason.

Anyway, I added lots of dots to the Arrgg Pirates critters to give them a bit of visual texture. Adding those little details makes them come more to life. I also masked and stenciled some clouds behind them to break up all that white.

And can you see the depth created by just popping up the Peekaboo Windows 3 diecut?  It's so cool that apertures allow for multiple things to go on in a visually controlled fashion.

The sentiments were stamped after I had adhered the diecut but the ship I masked, stamped and colored beforehand since it's much larger than the aperture. I love all the detail this ship has and will definitely use it full size in the future.
