I really liked the colors over at Sunday Stamps for the current challenge.  Pretty, aren't they?  I'm rather surprised I'm so taken with them as I'm usually all about the bold.

Penguin Joy

I love the striped paper from one of the pads I have. So festive! I paired it with the cutest penguin offering up a candy cane. When I was a kid, those were my favorite. How about you?

Style-wise, this is certainly layered and relatively clean I suppose. Is there a killer cute style? LOL.

2018 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop

I didn't think I had it in me to squeeze in a card for the current Coffee Lovers Hop but it allowed me play with an idea I had had about changing the pumpkin in the MFT Fall Friends set into a snowball so two birds-one stone.

I started the card by watercoloring the girl and squirrel. I lightly drew in snow on the ground but it was just so so plain so I added the birch trees. Less plain but still plain. Horizon then. Meh. Purple reflection. Okay, cool. Sunrise.  Cooler yet. Impression of a sun with the yellow. Shabam. And finally the various shadows. Happy sigh.

Cards in Envy Spirit of Christmas

Are you ready for another Cards in Envy challenge?  Come show your spirit of Christmas!

I found this Distress Oxide panel in my discard pile.  Yeah, I don't know why I was going to toss it. I paired it with a navy panel spattered with Copic Opaque White which was also in the leftovers pile. I love the dark against the bright.

Caroling Owls

Oh, how I love these caroling owls.  They were fun to color, especially when I started adding the dots and they came to life. Now the puffs on the hats I need to practice with.  Apparently with the Marvy Snow Marker a little goes a very long way. I had to tamp these down afterwards, especially the front one which ended up being 1/2" high!

Also, with the NT stencil, I found I needed to use my Copic airbrush to ensure I got into the crevices of the letters. My usual round Distress applicators were not cutting it.
