Beach Herd

This totally didn't start out this way, I swear.  I was picturing a couple or three critters but next thing you know I had filled nearly the entire card.  At least I left a little strip for the beach. LOL.

It was challenging to color all the different shades of gray for the ellies. All that gray was so very gray I'm glad for the pops of color with the accessories and purple hippos.  I had planned to do some punny sentiment with the herd of hippos and elephants which is why I left out the rhinos (a bunch of rhinos is a crash).  Of course, I didn't even use that idea!

Underwater Goodbye

Remember the other day I said people in my office are leaving for other opportunities?  Yep.  Another one.  This guy is outdoorsy so I created a bright, happy underwater scene, using the wheel sentiments to illustrate various goodbyes and thank yous.

As an FYI on the Reveal Wheel, I find it much easier to use a pinhole to exactly determine where the center of the mechanism should go.  In this case, the scuba diver covers it.  On my chihuahua card, the hole is just visible but doesn't bother me one whit.

Hmm, I must say I love the color palette of this card--so vibrant and yet a little different from my other underwater scenes with the purple and, of course, the yellow frame.

Taco Wednesday

I was inspired by a couple of CAS challenges last night to whip out this little number. What's jumpier than a chihuahua?  They're sooooo cute but I wish they weren't such in-your-face dogs. I suppose I should say in-your-ankles.  I would want a dog that's more of a coach potato.  LOL.

The dog is on a mini wobble, btw.  Even cuter!

Cards in Envy Feeling Blue and "Distressed"

We start a new Cards in Envy challenge late late tonight my time!  We'd like to see lots of blue Distress Ink/Oxide on your card although I bet we'd not notice if it was some other blue ink!  ;-)

I have had this card in my head for months and months. Seriously. I cut the MB Underwater Collage die out of scrap paper and used the negative as a stencil to create the pool using Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon. Then I colored up the sweet, sweet popsicle floatie image (maybe you guess my favorite fruit flavor is orange?) and plopped her right in the middle.  I few sequin water droplets and the sentiment and I've got the makings for a really cute make n take for my crafty girlfriends.  Woo hoo!

This round at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #112 we'd like to see a quote on your card. Whatever you like. For my card I (mis)quoted my doctor. You know how you hear what you want to hear? Yeah, totally that! I love the juxtaposition of the calming yoga pose and background against the quote and spatters of blood. I dare you to tell me I'm not reducing stress! LOL.
