Cards in Envy Give It Some Heart

This time for the Cards in Envy Challenge we'd like to see some hearts on your card.  I really "took that to heart" and went all out. LOL.  I hope you'll play along!

I sponged the CDD Hearts Galore Stencil with Distress Oxides.  That represents water naturally.  Then I stenciled an HOTP Snowflake stencil using glossy embossing paste. The effect is amazing--subtle and shiny and fab.  I colored the narwhal using Copics after taking a look at some online pics of them. I had never realized they were so mottled. It's like they're one giant freckle. The MFT Merry Christmas die is sponged in Oxide and then coated in clear Wink of Stella.

CDD February Release Recap 2

This is my favorite card from the release! I love the background, the images, the 3D tree. Wunderbar!

I paired up the Friend in Me fox with one of the cute cats from Donut Party--so cute peering down from the tree. And since spring is coming (pretty please!!!), I placed a few leaves on the Scenery Dies tree. Can you tell I formed them using a stylus and the back of a mouse pad? I also left the limbs unglued and coaxed them out a bit with my fingers (rather like running scissors along ribbon to curl).

CDD February Mood Board 1

The Craftin Desert Divas February mood board is so soft and pretty, isn't it? Dreamy colors. 

I brushed Distress Oxides over the Hearts Galore Stencil being careful not to overlap too much in the middle to avoid muddying the colors. The cute troll cupid from Hugs and Kisses provides the pop of blue-green seen in the mood board. I wanted contrast for the heart so used gold mirror board.  Ba-bam!

Now that the February release is available in the shop, we are going to show you a few more inspiration projects to get your creative juices flowing.  First up for me uses the Pot of Gold set.   Did you notice the clouds on the gray background? Hard to capture in the photo but so snazzy irl. And I love, love, love her hair.  I'm so not Irish but I am so very rainbow!
