CDD November Release Day 2

We are on Day 2 of the Craftin Desert Divas Release Lead Up!  You'll be able to get all the new products this Friday--woo hoo!

My first card showcases the new Holiday Sweaters set (my personal favorite of the release, not just because I'm a knitter!) as well as the currently available Sending Die, Sending Sentiments, Stitched in Circles Die and Outdoor Landscapes 2 die. I love the adorable uni and playing off of her colors with the golden yellows and rainbow stripes.  Did you notice the fence die behind her? Such a cool accent.

The Details:  Craftin' Desert Divas Holiday Sweaters, Sending Die, Sending Sentiments, Stitched in Circles Die, Outdoor Landscapes 2 die, Distress Ink Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade, Echo Park Perfect Princess 6x6 Paper, Recollections Washi, Sizzix Snow Embossing Folder

My second card showcases the new Sorted Shapes 1 stencil. I masked part of the stencil to create the trees and used another part of the stencil to add snow. Love the versatility! It worked so well to create a scene with the Outdoor Landscape 1 hill and Oh What Fun girl and bunny.

I'm entering this in Moving Along with the Times #58 Trees and Merry Monday #265 Outdoor Activities.

The Details:  Craftin' Desert Divas Sorted Shapes 1 Stencil, Fancy Frames Dies, Outdoor Landscape 1, Oh What Fun, Holiday Sweaters (sentiment), Distress Oxides, Scor Tape, Doodlebug Glitter, Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black, Marvy Uchida Snow Pen

CDD November Release Day 1

Today kicks off the sneaks for the November Craftin Desert Divas release which will be available to buy this Friday, November 17.  In the meantime, we'll be sharing all sorts of projects with you to get your crafty mojo going!

My first card uses the upcoming Yeti Fun Stamps and Scenery Dies. These coordinate so well together!  I stacked the mountains, coating the edges with Stickles (so blingy!). I curved the sentiment and stamped it in my fav sentiment ink Versafine. I did that before adhering the yeti with foam tape.  Lastly I added a few sequins.  Notice the cupped ones that don't have a hole in the middle?  These are especially reflective, despite what my camera says!

The Details: CDD Yeti Fun, Scenery Dies, Outdoor Landscape Dies, Oh What Fun (sentiment), CDD sequins, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black, Stickles

Best is Yeti

A goodbye card for a coworker who is moving back to Chicago after deciding Seattle isn't the place for her.  I wonder why? Could it be the rain? The unexpected November snow?  The stand-offish people? Did I say the rain already?  LOL.

The Details:  MFT Beast Friends, Hot Off the Press Snowflake stencil, Distress Oxide Salty Ocean, Memory Box Cityscape Nightline Border, Pretty Pink Posh Window Frames die, Hero Arts Forest Scene Stencil, Copics, Distress Ink Pine Needles, Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black

CDD November Mood Board - Banner

For this project I was inspired by the CDD November Mood Board Social Media Challenge (use #CDDMonthly when you post to join in) to create a Fall banner for our fireplace. What's really fun is that from year to year I can expand on it with additional images, etc. Fun!

I used the Fancy Frames Dies to create the base for each banner section using really sturdy cardstock. I then cut designer paper using the same die set and adhered those to the bases. Next I started coloring images from Harvest Happiness, Timber, and Harvest Wishes. So cute!  Note the holes were created using a WRMK Crop-A-Dile.

In some cases, I added Fall Harvest Sequins for a bit of bling.

On other panels I used diecuts from Stitched In Circles Dies and Party Dies for added interest.

The Details:  Craftin Desert Divas Harvest Happiness, Timber, Harvest Wishes, Stitched In Circles Dies, Party Dies, Fancy Frames Dies, and Fall Harvest Sequins, Sakura Quickie Glue Roller Pen, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, 1/8" Scor Tape, Carta Bella Hello Fall 6x6 Designer Paper, Neenah 110lb Kraft Cardstock, Copics, Ranger White Enamel Accents

Cards in Envy Typography

Our first Cards in Envy Challenge for November is fab! We ask that the emphasis of your card be on the sentiment. Easy!

I masked off my card front, spritzed lightly with water, then sprinkled on Brushos. I spritzed very lightly again and waited for the panel to dry old school.  I've found that if I use an embossing tool to dry it, the effects just aren't as nice.

I then removed the mask and die cut the panel. Next came the sentiment which I stamped multiple times with the MISTI so it would be really bold. So a very easy card that looks anything but!

CDD Lumberjack Sentiments

Hello, friends!  I'm here with you today with a focus on sentiment backgrounds. I find that during the holidays, I tend to use more designer paper so I immediately thought of using the sentiment backgrounds found in one of my favorite pads and to challenge myself even more by making it a masculine card. What was I thinking?  Oh, that's right. I was thinking cute, cute, cute with the CDD Timber set. Isn't the lumberjack image adorable?

I started out using boring boy brown tones but I need pops of colors so recolored the image. I did use the head from the previous one--can you see how his head is a bit popped up? I popped up the squirrel too. I added a strip of tree paper for a bit of color too.

As a near final step, I cut out the snow bank using another sentiment paper and a die from Outdoor Landscape 1 to ground those cute images. Love my result unisex Christmas card--LOL. I hope you'll be inspired to try to background sentiment ideas and show us in the Gallery!

City Skater

I caved and bought my first Papertrey Ink Kit. How could I not?  Love everything about it!  For this card, I used various papers and dies from the kit to create a make 'n' take for an upcoming crafty day. Love how it turned out. Traditional but cool too.

I'm entering this in Merry Monday #263 Inspiration Photo, Naughty or Nice #45 Winter Scene

The Details:  PTI October 2017 Kit, Lawn Fawn Twine, mystery washi
