Mondo Amaryllis

I received Polychromos colored pencils from Santa this year and have had a fine time playing and experimenting.  This is my first attempt, using the Ellen Hutson Mondo Amaryllis by Julie Ebersole set.  Not too shabby!

The image and sentiment are stamped with Versafine Onyx Black on kraft cardstock.  I used Polychromos 124, 126, 157, 158, 194, 225, 266, and 267.

I'm entering this in CAS on Friday #170 Christmas, Christmas Kickstart #26 Anything Goes

Poinsettia OLC

I love poinsettias and couldn’t resist no line watercoloring this one. I love Strathmore Bristol Smooth 100 as its sturdy enough to be one layer and handles my crazy crafty antics so well.

So no line watercoloring with Zigs and a really bold sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black. Ta da!

More Sunflowers

After I played around with the Pretty Pink Posh Sunflowers images using paper-piecing, I was curious how they would look water-colored with colored pencil accents. Would they be too cutesy? As if, I know.

Well, I think it turned out a treat. My only bump in the road was when I grabbed an orange rather than dark/bright yellow Zig marker. In my peripheral vision they looked exactly the same but on paper, not so much.  Oops!

I covered up that little boo boo by stamping and coloring the image again, fussy cutting it, and popping it up on foam tape. It'll stay our little secret. :)

C4P - Romantic Floral Waves

I present to you my latest card for the C4P Copic Club design team in support of the Crafts for Paws coloring classes.

Today's card is based on the class called Romantic Floral Waves. If you make a minimum donation, you can have access to this class and color along with us!

This round I didn't have the main Copics used for the flower so I substituted those for BV63, RV66, RV69. For the flower colored pencil I substituted PC937 (Tuscan Red).

I'm entering this in CAS(E) this Sketch! #338 and Watercooler Wednesday #237 Feminine Anything Goes

ATCAS #167 - Pink and Purple

The latest Addicted to CAS inspiration words are "Pink and Purple." I challenged myself to use Copic colors I don't normally to work up this sympathy card. Happy sigh.

Read more about this card and the other I made from it in a couple of weeks on the Doodlebugs Blog. Yeah, there might have been a bit of unfortunate inky fingers action after I took this photo. :*(

ATCAS #164 - Daisy

We're starting a fresh Addicted to CAS Challenge today.  Come join us for #164 Daisy!

I colored my Tim Holtz Flower Garden cone flower using Copics.  I modeled it after one that is currently blooming in my garden.

I added the MFT Small Brick Wall Stencil using Distress Oxide Vintage Photo. That's also from my garden but not as even looking by any means!

Lastly I stamped the Hero Arts To Seize or Not to Seize sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black.

DB - Wonderful Friend

I love the new MFT release, people!  I restrained myself and only got 3 things.  Wait, 4 things. Sweetie, if you're reading this, I swear!  LOL.

I started the card by choosing the layout based on the current MFT Sketch. With that it was a matter of choosing a couple of the Carta Bella Flora 6x6 papers which I've been dying to use--the background, of course, as well as paper-piecing the MFT Bring Out the Sunshine girl's dress.

Notice how I used an Exacto knife to carefully cut the MFT Bring Out the Sunshine girl's hair and arm so that the dress could tuck right under, like it would in reality? A little something extra I like to do.

Next I colored up the images from the MFT Bring Out the Sunshine and MFT Friends at First Sip sets.  They're so so cute!  I love the color palette I used based on the Carta Bella paper.

The card background felt a touch plain so I used the MFT Mini Staggered Circles stencil with Distress Oxide Ripe Persimmon and Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink on it. Love the effect.

My final step was stamping the MFT Bring Out the Sunshine sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black onto a MFT Dynamics Blueprints 25 diecut.

I'm also entering this in Color Throwdown #452.

Now go and enjoy the rest of your day!

ATCAS #158 - Contrast

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS!  How do you interpret our code word "Contrast?"

I think of contrasting color but perhaps you have a different take on it.  Come show us!
