SOSS #156 - K for Kids
I'm so proud of myself--using both kids (baby goats) and kids (children) for this fortnight's Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #156 K for Kids! Rather apropos given the current world situation.
I stamped, masked, and watercolored the goats then decided to add a background. Yes, rather back-ass-ward of me. I sketched the fence and watercolored it, added some grass and used a stencil to sponge in the clouds.
Oh! I did use the head from one goat and Frankensteined it with the body of another so I could have two kids hopping on its poor, poor mama. LOL.

Whimsy - Favorite Place
By now I'm sure you've seen quite a few projects showcasing the Whimsy Stamps March release. So inspiring and so much eye candy!
My card today uses Polka Dot Pals Harley. If you take a look at the stamp set below, you'll see that his face is largely blank so you can draw in whatever expression you want. BIG breath! I was intimidated but followed PDP desgner Barbara Sproatmeyer's brilliant tutorial on faces. She refers to the faces that come with some of the PDP sets (which I don't have) so I just basically followed along.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It wasn't too hard to do either so I will definitely be trying this again.
For the card background:
- I sponged Distress Oxide Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin onto the card base.
- I adhered the Forest Majesty tree dies on top.
- The next layer is a leftover piece of card stock sponged with Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn and cut out with a Lawn Fawn grass die.
- For the water, I stamped and fussy cut the stream and watercolored it with Zig Real Brush Markers.
I used a sentiment from the Bunny Buddies set to finish up this little love note for my sweetie. :)
Other products used: Zig 047, 030, 032, 092, 010, 075, 062, 052, 072; Copic B14, E55.

Whimsy - Frosty Friends
Mmm, does the Whimsy Frosty Wishes cocoa hot tub mug look inviting? The weather is getting colder here so I'm all about staying cozy.
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copics. I used a Sakura White Roller Pen to add plaid details. So cute!
For the card base I stamped the Curly Qs Background using Distress Oxide Weathered Wood. It may be windy outside, but who cares when you're in a hot tub?
For the hill, I used one of the Wavy Edgers. I love that stitched scallop edge. Once I had assembled the card, I diecut the Friend die and colored it with Copics. The other part of the sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black.
Stay frosty, my friends!

Whimsy - Happy Trails
This another card I've made using the Whimsy September release products. I hope you've gone to take a look at what's available!
My concept started with the Lots of Dots panel which I had stamped for a different project but didn't use. I cut a Pierced and Stitched Circle Die and Distress Oxide Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn to create the dragon background.
I colored up the Camping Dragons scene using Copics. I took my cue from the image sign to draw dotted trail lines on the card base using a Copic Multiliner 0.3.
I assembled the remaining card front using Scotch Foam Tape and Scor-Tape. So cute!

Swinging Sloth
How could I resist these adorable Sunny Studio Silly Sloths? Finally a sloth design that I must have in my stash!
I worked up another MFT Interactive Swing design but mixed it up by using Waffle Flower Greenery dies to cover up the mechanism.
It was so simple to do; just think of the possibilities! Like what if you cut the swing shorter and centered it on the card so it could loop completely around, say, the moon. So cool!
I colored up the sloths using Copics and added hair details using Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I used Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the card base and greenery. I used a few HAI Colorful Blossom Confetti for pops of color.

Whimsy - Ruff Day
Woof! Woof! The April Whimsy release is here and I'm here to shout it out to the world! Except I'm wearing a cone and it's all your fault. :(
LOL. I love this pup from the Cone of Shame set. Just look at his face! Enough said!
I stamped the Cone of Shame image and sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. Everything is colored with Zig Realbrush Markers. I was really hesitant about adding the freehand tree as I really liked how the dog & house image turned out but decided to just bite the bullet. Whew! Turned out better than I was hoping!
That red is so swoon-worthy! But still, my favorite part of the card is the dog's expression!

SOSS #127 - V is for Valentine TONI
Time for another Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge. Come share your Valentine/love/love sucks cards with us! Snark is optional although we love it.
My card is for my husband, who both can be a dumbass and has a cute ass. Not as pert as when we first met but I love him anyway. LOL. My card is one layer with masking. I decided to add the heart after the fact, as usual, and yes, I'm nuts. I added some visual texture to the heart by using a piece of denim and Copic 0. The sentiment is printed on my Brother label maker. Maybe I should get a fancier one that has more fonts and sizes.

Cards in Envy Love Me or Love My Pet
If you know me or have been following me for a while, you know I love cats and will eventually reach crazy cat lady status. So I am super excited that our new Cards in Envy Challenge focuses on pets and love. Woo hoo!
Of course, mine includes cats which I kept very simple, using Zig watercolor markers to color them. I paired it with a scalloped reveal portion at the bottom using a blue similar to her dress or did I start with the reveal blue and make her dress similar? Either way, I love the results.

2018 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop
I didn't think I had it in me to squeeze in a card for the current Coffee Lovers Hop but it allowed me play with an idea I had had about changing the pumpkin in the MFT Fall Friends set into a snowball so two birds-one stone.
I started the card by watercoloring the girl and squirrel. I lightly drew in snow on the ground but it was just so so plain so I added the birch trees. Less plain but still plain. Horizon then. Meh. Purple reflection. Okay, cool. Sunrise. Cooler yet. Impression of a sun with the yellow. Shabam. And finally the various shadows. Happy sigh.
I'm also entering this in HLS Watercolor Anything Goes Without Optional Stencil Twist.
The Details: MFT Fall Friends and Our Story (coffee mug), Hello Bluebird Birch Trees, Zig Watercolor Markers, Copics, Posca White Pigment Pen, Versafine Onyx Black
