Whimsy M1 - Baby Dragon

Oh, my goodness! The Dragon Egg image is simply adorable! And quite a timely Whimsy release for me since I just learned of another pregnancy at the office. They say they come in threes so I best prepare myself for one more baby card this year!

I started the card by diecutting the Up in the Clouds dies. See how they are both stitched on the outside and pierced on the cloud itself?  So brilliant!

I sponged the background using Distress Oxide Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers. I spattered that with water before adhering a few of the pierced clouds with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

I colored up the Dragon Egg image using Copics and nestled him down into the largest cloud diecut. Isn't he so cute!

SOSS #120 - P is for Pink Halloween

We're all about the pink and all about the Halloween this fortnight at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  What a combo, huh?  Easier than you may think to do.

For my card, I created a lovely Autumnal background using Distress Oxides.  The skeleton was embossed on a piece of sponged cardstock that I had discarded from another project. The sentiment popped into my head the moment I saw this stamp.  What question is scarier than this one?  And I love the look at the owl's face:  I dare you to answer.  LOL!

The Details:  Oxford Impressions Danse Macabre, Distress Oxides, Versamark, Ranger Black and Gold embossing powder, Memento Tuxedo Black, P-touch label tape,

CDD June Release Day 5

On the last day of the CDD June release sneaks, we're featuring my favorite of the bunch, the Fintastic Friends set. So flippin' cute!

I created a slider for my first card.  I love how the submarine boop boop boops across the card.  Check my IG account for a video (I hope--the cat kept trying to head-bump me so I need to remove the cursing--LOL).

The Details:  CDD Fintastic Friends, Waving Hello, Mermaid Trolls, Merman Lagoon, Ocean Border Dies, Distress Oxide Salty Ocean, Broken China and Twisted Citron, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder and Multi Medium Matte, Copics

For my second card I created an underwater Christmas scene.  So cute!  I used the tree from the Scene Builder dies for the "tree."  And isn't scuba-diving troll Santa adorable?  I thought about adding a beard by using his hair (picture it--it would totally work!) and then his hair I would color red for his hat.  Ack, next time!

The Details:  CDD Fintastic Friends, Christmas Wishes, Scene Builder Dies, Star and Moon Dies, Party Dies, Beach Scene, Scenery Dies, Ranger Glossy Accents, Distress Oxide Salty Ocean, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder, Copics

Cat's Birthday

I'll be posting a card next week that uses the negatives of this card front.  Can't let a perfectly good scrap go to waste, now can I.

My nephew's birthday is coming up and he's at the age where cute is still okay but not TOO cute.  You totally know what I mean.  I had the idea of having it appear that we're the fish looking at the cats looking at us in our aquarium. I particularly love the cat with the monocle peering in for a closer look. I think the coral I used is fantastic but visually busier than anticipated so I kept the sea creatures white.  Plus, I was tired of coloring.  Too many cats! Oh, yes, this cat lady said it!

The Details:  Mama Elephant Cat's Meow, Newton's Nook Shark Bites (sentiment), Lawn Fawn Porthole Frames, Taylored Expressions Build a Scene Underwater, Memory Box Curious Octopi, Twisting Tentacle and Small Alder Tree, Copics, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Transparency Acetate, Distress Oxide Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers

Cards in Envy Jingle All the Way

It's Cards in Envy time again and this time we'd like to see a bell on your card. Could be the focus or an accent like on my card.

I brushed Distress Oxides onto my main panel then spattered with water. While that was drying I colored up Avery Elle holiday images from this year and last. I love how well they coordinate. I put together the card using a pine bough die and frame to contain the woodland critters. The snowflake tag was the perfect size for the sentiment and bells. Adorable!

CDD November Mood Board 2

My last Autumnal card although it felt like Autumn was a over a couple of weeks ago in my neck of the woods because it snowed.  S.N.O.W.  Craziness!  But I'm going to pretend it's still harvest time with my take on the CDD November Mood Board Social Media Challenge (use #CDDMonthly when you post to join in).

I made this card twice.  The first try is above. Love the results but felt the balance was a bit off with the competing height of the cornstalks and scarecrow so I reworked it. I really wanted to reuse the background of the first card but that glue tape is stiiiiiicky. Beyond that, I like the balance much better in the new version.  How about you?
