THD 13 Mid-Challenge Reminder
Sometimes I don't get around to making a mid-challenge reminder card for The Heart Desires Challenge (shhhh!) but I had to this time--love the mood board so much!
For my card, I focused on the green and white patterns using a stencil and Distress Ink as the backdrop. I added texture with woodgrain patterned cardstock framed by narrow bands of black, like spokes on the umbrella. The black edges tie in nicely with the bold sentiment that is further emphasized by the sprinkling of berry dots. I love the white butterfly--subtle but oh so there.
The Details: My Favorite Things Friends Like Us, Concord & 9th Floral & Flutter die, Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Round Ink Applicator, Eyelet Outlet Matte Red Enamel Dots, Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Memory Box stencil

Cards in Envy White Out
Time for Cards in Envy's second challenge for June. This time you're asked to use lots and lots of white on your cards.
I stuck with pure white--oh, how boring, but no! White on white is the perfect opportunity to use embossing. That 3D embossing effect is amazing, isn't it? So much detail. The sentiment is done in the same white cardstock but stacked thrice for oomph. I love the simplicity!

June Wedding
Today marks the second week of The Heart Desires Challenge #13. Hope you'll play along!
I stamped the C9 bouquet on Ranger watercolor paper then crossed my fingers. I tend to muddy watercolor--I admit I don't usually wait for it to dry between layers--but had a backup image stamped on my regular Copic paper. Good thing too. The central flower looked like donkey's butt originally so I colored it up again with Copics then fussy cut and adhered it over the ugly one. The pop of the white makes me happy sigh. I added dots of white enamel for texture and framed the piece for a bit of simple frou.

Cards in Envy Fav Color Combo
Time for another fab challenge at Cards in Envy! We're asking you to use your favorite 2-3 colors. I hope you have a moment to join in the fun!
You will often find shades of yellow, magenta pink and blue-green in my cards. I used the colors in combination this time to create even more shades, like the two-tone tulips. So pretty! I like to create a background for my colored pieces too, sometimes an outline, almost always blue. I went with a plaid stencil that looks like wallpaper in this context.

THD Challenge 12
The Heart Desires Challenge #12 has begun--such a bright and colorful mood board! How are you inspired? Come on over and show us!
There was so much to choose from that I pulled in lots of elements--the gold, the flowers, the purse.
- I stretched my supplies by using the Lawn Fawn Simple Road Border die to create both the curved edge and the sassy gold piping. Squee!
- I quilted the purse using one of the WRMK next level embossing folders
- To create the illusion of a purse that can open, I attached the flap only at the top using Sookwang Tape; the 3D embossing helps kick up the bottom.
- Dude, did I mention the card looks like a purse?!

THD Challenge 11
The Heart Desires Challenge #11 is has begun! I love this mood board--so much inspiration to choose from! How are you inspired? Come on over and show us!
I embossed the flowers in gold, because why not, and used Zigs to color them. I originally embossed the sentiment directly onto the card front but it didn't come out as clearly as I liked (gold and black powders don't play nice) so I stamped it separately then fussy cut. Love the stripe against all that floral beauty.
