HLS Watercolour - Bright

The optional topic for this month's Happy Little Stampers Challenge is "bright."  Yes, please!

I sprinkled the card base with Lindy's Magicals and spritzed with water. Then I randomly smooshed some Distress Ink Mustard Seed. I wish you could see the shimmer--so pretty! 

For the sentiment, I hot foiled the PFS Holiday Brushed Sentiments with black on acetate then decided to use the reverse hot foil on acetate instead.

I used my PFS Solid Hot Foil Plate for this but have wondered if you could use the back of any hot foil cover plate instead; you'd probably have to add a shim or two but it seems like it should work. Lmk if you've tried this. Much appreciated!

ATSM #447 - Christmas

I kept my card really simple (and quick), masking the scene then watercoloring with Zig Real Brush Markers. I jazzed it up a bit with the LF Falling Hearts Layering Stencil.

SOSS #235 - S for Steampunk

The latest Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge is #235 for Steampunk.  

This topic is one I love and dread at the same time. I LOVE steampunk but I don't have a lot of it since I tend toward the cute.  Not that steampunk can't be cute but sort of creepy cute. LOL.

Coloring up this seahorse took a fair amount of time, in part due to finding a rusty color combo I was satisfied with.  My Polychromos helped grunge it up more.  The background was cake compared to that.  Mmm, cake.

ATSM #446 - Make Your Mark

The next Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge is #446 Make Your Mark.  This is my favorite of the 5 challenge topics we do at ATSM.  It gives me an excuse and a kick in the pants to go all out.

This time I created an underwater birthday card I've had in my head for a bit, all due to the cute cute octopus.  And I just like making underwater scenes.

These are some of the details I really like about this card:

• I used my Copic Airbrush to ombre-color the glitter sand at the bottom.
• I gave the idea of rocky outcroppings using Distress Oxide Lost Shadow and Avery Elle Underwater Background Builder.
• I used Glossy Accents on the camera lens and scuba mask.
• The way the seaweed weaves into the glitter Smile diecut.
• The illusion of bubbles using the Lawn Fawn Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Backdrop. I used Scor-Tape on the card front and burnished the glitter into the dots and borders for extra pizzazz.
• I decorated the inside of the card.  I had to tho--I can't resist a pun. Of course, it was after I stamped that I remembered I had rainbow fish washi.  I can use that next time . . . if I remember!

This card is just so fun; I absolutely loved making it and hope it inspires you!
