SOSS #179 - Q for Queen

It's not often that I make something that's not a card but this chipboard crown called out to me and how timely that I found it in time to use it for the latest Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #179 Q for Queen.

I used this as an opportunity to try out new techniques and products and just to have fun. And I certainly did.  This was exactly what I needed to get out of my little crafting funk.  Woo hoo!

I used a Command Strip to mount this on my craft wall right above my desk and cubby thingie.  Such sassy eye candy!  In case you're wondering, the crown is approximately 7x11" and 1/2" thick.

I thought I would play along with the Simon Says Monday Add Some Texture Challenge. It was the perfect opportunity for me to play with the Distress Resist Spray (essentially a really watered down glue) I had just picked up last week.  I love how this turned out although hopefully next time it won't take me 2 hours!

Steampunk Fly?

I saw The Male Room #147 Steampunk challenge and had to join in since I had just gotten the Sizzix Tim Holtz gears/cogs embossing folder.  LOVE it.  

With the background being so colorful, the embossed cogs are only apparent from certain angles which makes it so visually interested to me.  See the pic below for a better view.

Another holiday card for the 2021 stash. I'm rather pleased with how the coloring turned out. I like these sorts of sketchy images but don't often work with them so this is a real treat in more ways than one!

Another Holiday Experiment

I saw that the Simon Says Monday Challenge is "Resist It" and I had the snowflakes already embossed so it took me all of 3 minutes to give it a spritz and spatter followed by buffing the panel once dried. LOVE it.

I paired it with a vintage style snowman, frame and sentiment. Those rosy cheeks! If I do another card like this with the linen-colored snowman, I will color up the snowman sans accessories and give it some texture with a bit of cloth and Copic 0. I so picture this being made up in burlap or felt.

I'm also entering this in Sparkles Christmas Challenge #121 Snowman/men.

Pink Folk Christmas

I was inspired by the latest Jingle Belles challenge for this card.  I love the amber color featured in the inspiration pic so made sure to include it.
