Greenery Card Redux

I decided that the original of this card was missing a little something-something so I added a foiled oval sentiment. Much better.

Whimsy - Funky Frames

Some people know that I wish I could have a pug but it would need to act like a cat and not have any of the problems the breed is known for--so no pug for me in real life but I can color up as many as I want!

I'm using one of the Whimsy Stamps Wrinkles pugs with the new Funky Frames Dies to create a fun shaker.

I used a few sequins and dog bones confetti from one of the Paws and Bones Border Dies. I cut out the card front with a Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die, created the shaker, then added the Wrinkles sentiment and paw print.  Isn't that so cute?

Whimsy - Linking Train

I think I know a certain little boy who is going to love his birthday card using the new Whimsy Linking Train set.

I totally thought of a circus when I saw the train cards so colored them with really fun, bright colors. Did you notice the train tracks? The stamp is so easy to match up I was able to create a long track without a hitch.  Without a hitch--ha!

Wouldn't it be cute to add a character to the engine car window? Of course, I think of this after the fact. LOL.

You still have time to snag some of the latest release so why don't you take a gander at the other new goodies in the Whimsy shop.

Whimsy - Pink Uzuri

I love everything about this card, including the new Whimsy Stamps Polka Dot Pals Uzuri. She's such a sweet image, don't you think?

I colored her with Zig watercolors and used a Marvy Snow Marker on the coat collar and hat puff. I love that texture.

I also love the texture and shine of the glitter paste I used with the fabulous Whimsy Twinkle Stencil on vellum that I diecut with a Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die.  The different sized stars really work well with the Blurry Flurries paper I used on the card front. I used a leftover of the same paper to create the You're My Jolly sentiment strip.

I continued the snowflake glitter theme using glitter cardstock when cutting out some of the snowflakes from the Whimsy Elegant Snowflake Border Dies. So sparkly and pretty!

Now be sure to check out the other new goodies in the Whimsy shop! There's so much eye candy!

Big Bold Poinsettia

I love poinsettias and usually get a stamp set or two each year with new versions.  This Colorado Craft Company Poinsettia Blessings image is my current favorite.

I paired it with some Tim Holtz Sketch Greenery and Forest Floor images.

I used Zig Real Brush markers.  A few different greens but only two reds:  020 and 260.  To make the shade of the berries a bit oranger, I just added bright yellow 052.

Foiled Merry Christmas

So my new Spellbinders Glimmer machine is seeing lots of action.

The rainbow one was the most challenging.  I don't know if the Spellbinders Glimmer foil was defective or what but it was a PITA to get it to work. This was the best version and I still had to use Copics to fill in some blanks.

I particularly love this shade of Foil Quill blue on the white. So clean and pretty.

I'm entering this one in CAS on Friday #193 Use a Big Sentiment.

This foil was a sample that came with the machine.  I don't know if it's copper or rose gold.

DB - Rocking Around the Xmas Tree

I've been working on my Xmas cards and taking inspiration from anywhere I can get it, including from the latest MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #515.

SOSS #173 - P for Penguin

P is for cute little penguins at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers this fortnight. Most of us found it quite challenging to create a snarky/humorous card.  I fortunately had this Hobby Art Pip the Penguin stamp in my stash; isn't he cute?! But his bottom half is naked as a jaybird (how did this saying come about? LOL) so obviously he has a wardrobe dilemna on his hands.

Wonderful Snowflakes

I had to play along with the current Color Throwdown #619 which are so so me! Again, I'm using new goodies--The Greetery as well as my Spellbinders Glimmer dohickey.

I used Distress Oxides, brushing more lightly for the lighter versions of Peacock Feathers/Salty Ocean (whatever was leftover on my brush) and Candied Apple.

Whimsy - Donkey Selfie

I have to admit that I was so tickled to be able to work with this Wonky Donkey set from the latest Whimsy release. My partner love donkeys so this is my little homage to his royal weirdness.  LOL.

I stamped and colored the image then sponged Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers around it after masking. I spattered a bit of water and also used the Twinkle Stencil along with white pigment ink for a bit of glam.

I was imagining a filter applied with the filters on your phone, or in this case the Selfie Dies. He's going to get such a kick out of this one. Men!

Christmas Greenery

I splurged and bought a few things from The Greetery, including the Banner & Bough set.  I've paired that with a Spellbinders Glimmer plate (another splurge--eee).  So pretty!

I'm entering this in The Paper Players #516 Colour Challenge and Try It on Tuesday Traditional Xmas Colors
