Whimsy - 31 nights of Halloween

Woo hoo!  This is my favorite Whimsy event of the year.  Halloween?  Yes, please! In celebration of our annual 31 Nights of Halloween event, we will be giving away $300 in Whimsy Stamps gift cards throughout the month of October!  Check the link above for full details on how to win.

Read more about my card over on the Whimsy Stamps blog.

Whimsy - Tuesday Tutorial Blingy Santa

I'm up on the Whimsy blog today with a tutorial showing you how I blinged up this fun Santa card. I know exactly which of my male relatives is getting this one!

Whimsy - Dragon Lights

I think the Whimsy dragon images are so darn cute, including the latest Dragon Christmas Cheer set.

I spent a lot of time coloring this one, using blues which is rather unusual for me. LOVE how it turned out.

I stamped some Gossip Holiday Girls snowflakes with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass and added a sentiment from the Very Mice Christmas set.  How perfect is that sentiment with the image, right?!

Be sure to check out the rest of the new releases--it's well worth it!

Whimsy - Halloween Slimline

I have some leftover bits and pieces from other Whimsy cards that I thought would pair perfectly with the new Slimline Vertical Sentiment.

I sponged the card base with Distress Oxide Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, and Blueprint Sketch after masking a moon.  I used my Copic airbrush to color the Slimline Hill House Die.  I used Copic B39, E49, G99, N9, and Y17.

I then added some ghosts from the Boo Dies set. I really like how they're peeking out and around the slimline vellum sentiment.

Be sure to take a look at the other goodies in the Whimsy shop as well as the posts of other DT members.  There's lots of inspiration to be had!

Whimsy - Treats for the Retreat

Hello, everyone!  I'm super excited to be sharing the make 'n' takes I made for the Whimsy Virtual Weekend Retreat happening right this very minute. Woo hoo!

The first project is a treat box featuring HaBee BirthdayNested Hexagon DiesHoneycomb Pattern Die, and the Hexagon Treat Box Die.

I created a simple tab mechanism for the lid pop-up.

Any Little Shop of Horror fans out there?  This second card is creepy cool.  So many ways to customize the card base and the panel--change the colors, use patterned paper, etc.

Feel free to leave a comment on this post if you have any questions or want to leave some love.  Happy retreating!

SOSS #171 - P for (Pink) Halloween 10/17

Time for (optional) Pink Halloween over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! I couldn't resist using my new Picket Fence So Franken Cute set. Even Frankenstein dresses up for Halloween!  LOL.

I used Zigs and Polychromos; I've obviously missed my calling as a makeup artist. Ha!

Whimsy - Bundles of Hugs

I just received this Bundles of Hugs set from Whimsy Stamps and had to immediately play with it.  Well, "immediately."  Too bad work life interferes with real life!  LOL.

I placed the squirrel on top of the stump from the Polka Dot Pals Harley set.  I used the Flight of the Butterflies Stencil with Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron to create a few layers of grass.

I love the Calico 6x6 Paper, don't you?  I'm not normally a navy person but navy with orange--I'm so there.

I happened to have a leftover piece of spattered watercolor paper so used that for the embossed sentiment. Like I said--I like orange!

Plaid Amaryllis

Another finished watercolor holiday card from last year's queue.  This one uses an amarylis from Ellen Hutson's.  I'm guessing the sentiment is Penny Black.  The plaid background uses an MFT stencil. I'm just a fount of information today, aren't I? :)

Whimsy - Even Santa Poops

The second Whimsy release of the month is upon us and it's a whopper. Eww.  Poor choice of words on my part.  LOL.

I used the new Slimline Scenic Window Die to create a slimline card with my favorite holiday colors of red and aqua.

I colored the Loads of Cheer with Copics.  Did you notice I masked out that Santa was smoking?  Smoking is soooo gross.

I used the Cosmic Swirl Background as peppermint (yum!) and embossed the sentiment on top so it would really pop.

I added a mouth and sentiment from Gossip Girls; I mean, who wouldn't be freaked out by Santa pooping on their roofs? LOL.

I Don't Mind Being a "Witch"

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #456 for this one, turned on its side.  Love how it turned out.  And, yes, those spiders on the background paper have flowers on their butts.

I used Simon Says If the Hat Fits along with Whimsy Stamps Halloween Creatures Stencil and the new to me Whimsy Build a Graeyard Dies.

I colored up the image using Copics, masked it and used Distress Oxides with an Echo Park stencil for the plaid.  I love that plaid. I think the Whimsy cat and dangling spiders (shiver) really make the card shine tho. The card is creepy but not too.
