Cards in Envy - Something Spooky
It's time for a new Cards in Envy challenge! This time we'd like you to show us something spooky. My card is definitely not too cute to spook but cute in its own way.
I used my new Whimsy set and recreating the scene from Psycho (2, I think) where Norman calls up the stairs for his mother and then she answers back. Or does she??? Definitely spooky. The background is one of my Gelli prints; I cut the bats out of that too. I'll be sending this card to my kid sister as one of our many inside jokes. She will love it!
The Details: Whismy Stamps Cute But Psycho, Impression Obsession Halloween Hill die, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk Snarky, Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Copics, Liquitex Acrylic Paints

Hello, Autumn Friends
Oh, man, getting into the craft zone this weekend was so wonderful. It was like a vacation from real life, know what I mean? Too much work, too much everything, but a couple of hours focusing on a totally different activity makes such a difference! Thanks to my crafty friends for coming over Saturday!!
For this card I cut the bits out of various Gelli prints. The pinecone wasn't quite the dark tone I wanted so I sponged that with Distress Oxide then heat embossed it. The shine is quite lovely. I also love my new washi. I've been seeing the vertical sentiment around lately so was inspired to do that here.
I'm entering this in TIME OUT #118 Home Sweet Home Photo
The Details: Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves, Stampin' Up Pretty Pines, Doodlebug Washi, Distress Oxide Vintage Photo, Ranger clear embossing powder and Multi Medium Matte

SOSS #119 - M is for Monster
Time to get your monster on over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! Cute monster, scary monster, snarky, not snarky, it's all good!
My card started out with the sentiment which I had picked up for part of my personal exploration journal. I was thinking of what parts of myself that I like and then thought of old zipper face. LOL. This image is so cute and I love him paired with the sentiment. So true that we're not perfect, but everyone has some awesome.

Cards in Envy Feels Like Fall
Does it feel like fall to you? It does over at Cards in Envy--come join us!
My card started with a leftover panel from a project I had done last year involving a copper frame. This was buried deeeeep in the "use this someday" pile, that's for sure. I sponged it with Distress Oxides then light burnished the copper with a dry paper towel. I love the way the copper looks with the Oxides.
I die cut the leaves and struggled with the card base color. Kraft? White? Yellow? Black? Black obviously won out but I did add more interest that impressing the leaves into the black panel so the veins would show. Very cool. I positioned the die cut leaves so they stuck out over the edge of the panel. Again very cool that their points are mimicked by the points of the panel.

SOSS #118 - L is for Leaves
It's time for the next Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #118 Leaves! In my case I used both plant leaves and a "leave me the hell alone" sentiment. LOL. I especially love the depth of the tree limbs as I used a stencil as the first layer then a diecut tree and leaves above that. I should keep this in mind for the future.
The Details: YNS Scratch Pad, CDD Blooming Tree Stencil, Ranger Dylusions People . . . Not a Fan, Lawn Fawn Leafy Tree Backdrop Portrait Die, Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaFine Onyx Black, Distress Oxide Lucky Clover and Twisted Citron, Copics, Copic Multiliner 0.3, Ranger Multi Medium Matte

Guesting at Inkspirational
I'm so pleased! I was invited to guest at Inkspirational after being one of the top picks in April. Woo hoo! This round we'd like you to use a doily in some fashion on your card.
I happened to have paper doilies that I had kept with a someday experiment in mind which I finally put into action--thanks Inspirational for the kick in the butt--LOL.
I used a square doily as a mask with my Copic airbrush and vintage/autumnal colors. I then stenciled some words randomly on the background before stamping the fairy. Now I hadn't intended to add actual doily to the card but I have butter fingers so dropped the inkpad on the far right side. I used the same doily I had used to mask to cover up that boo boo. Cool effect, huh? And double duty!
The Details: Lavinia Josie, TCW stencil, doily, Copics and Copic airbrush, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Versafine Onyx Black, Distress Oxide Vintage Photo
