Happy Birthday, Kimberly!

Happy birthday to my crafty friend, Kimberly of Wienerhoneymooners!  We're having a celebratory hop in her honor so feel free to hop along for a bit of inspiration. You should be on your way to Tonya. You can find the full list on Lisa's blog. Enjoy!

Still playing with my new YNS sets. How could I not. This time--negative coloring! Or whatever it's called. I layered the top panel with a matching layer beneath to give a tiny bit of depth to the letters.

Hog Heaven

Finally took a moment to make the card I've had in my head ever since I saw the Love Cynthia Happy Pals stamps.  I mixed her with some fab MFT and designer paper to create an adorable scene. OMG, I'm so loving it! PLUS, she's on an Action Wobble so shakes her little bum whenever I'm around. LOL.

Catsfish

Quick post today with cats and fishies! I mean, how could I not? The central portion of the tank is cut out and lifted with foam tape for dimension.  I'm fully expecting to see one of those cats dip a paw. I have another idea for depth but not sure when I'll fit that in. Too many ideas, too few hours. The background is washi. I wanted a pop of color, perhaps because the weather here in the PNW is still so blah.

Shake Your Hair

Some crafty gal pals and I had a great time Saturday shaking our hair and then some. Love you two! I managed to make 3 cards, including this one.

I just picked up some mini Action Wobbles--the mini size is perfect for my cute scenes! Here Bridget the Bergen is on a wobble with a stencilled disco background.  Bridget is my favorite Troll character, especially when she's all glammed up and going to 70s town. LOL!

I decided to make it a shaker for even more shaking goodness.  Doubly interactive!!!

Cards in Envy Motherly Love Challenge

Our Cards in Envy challenge for you this round is to showcase motherly love. I immediately thought of the otter stamps that are all the rage--sooooo cute!

I created the water by using a waves coverplate die as a mask, moving it from place to place and using a couple of different shades of Distress Ink for interest.  The otter mama and baby are stamped on the background then the hugs diecut is raised for interest.  White on white details up top finish off the card.

The Details: MFT Hugs die and Otterly Love You, Queen and Company Waves die used as mask, Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass, PTI clouds die, Impression Obsession bird die, Copics

Happy Birthday, Miss Laura!

Happy birthday to my crafty friend, Laura Norris! We're having a celebratory hop in her honor so feel free to hop along for a bit of inspiration. You should have gotten here from Kimberly and are on your way to Tonya.  Enjoy!

For my card I made a cute little scene using some Avery Elle coordinating sets. They thought of everything when they made these. Seriously, everything. Notice the sidewalk/stoop? That's a flower box upside down. Or are the flower boxes upside down sidewalks? The mind boggles.

Stamplorations CAS #16 Mid-Challenge Reminder

You still have time to join in at Stamplorations CAS with the optional color twist of any pastel color.

I love working with Brushos and other products of that ilk. They're like magic--you never know what you're going to get and it's always fabulous. I had a scrap leftover of a piece I had worked up with Lindy's Magicals (think brushos with shimmer) which were the perfect colors for this month's challenge. I diecut the smile and decided to leave the bird plain. Meep, meep!

Use the code STAMPGIRLTONI to get 20% off all regular- and sale-priced stamps, stencils and dies! This code cannot be combined with any other discount codes. Happy crafting!

Cards in Envy Pretty Pastels

We're using pretty pastels at Cards in Envy this fortnight. Come join in the fun!

I first randomly cut out the bunnies from my card front then embossed it with a basket weave that reminds me of Easter. I covered the back of the card front with Scor-Tape then burnished white glitter into the rabbits to give the plaid a little blingy bling bling. The plaid makes the bunnies all so cute and unique! I chose a very simple sentiment underscored by gold heart washi. Really hard to see the gold in the photo, I know. It's wonderfully shiny in real life.

The Details:  Altenew Bunny Love sentiment, Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6x6 designer paper, We R Memory Keepers Woven Next Level Embossing Folder, Impression Obsession Rabbit dies, Doodlebug Design Lily White Glitter, VersaFine Onyx Black

March Away, Bunny Girl

I was a bit bummed that I didn't get to use this set in time for Easter. Totally due to poor planning on my part because, guess what, Easter is this weekend not next and my other cards had to go in the mail. Good thing for stash cards!

So, I decided to make this an any occasion/birthday card instead by masking out the eggs and adding birthday accessories like presents, balloons and a puppy. So cute! And that sentiment with the scene--so perfect. And totally perfect for The Heart Desires Challenge 11!

Beach Bum Magic Slider

I have had my eye on this set for ages and ages then learned that one of my friends had it. Woo hoo! And now I've had it for months while my friend has patiently waited for me to get off my bum and work up this card. LOL.

I tossed around a couple of ideas on how to make this magic slider then decided after experimenting that acetate would work best for the top layer so I wouldn't need to make two backgrounds. So I stamped and masked Santa on the base scene then colored him up half-naked after sponging the background. I colored and fussy cut out a second one which I mounted on acetate. I raised the scalloped border up on foam tape to make sure that the top Santa wouldn't catch when sliding. Worked a treat. I added the tiny snowflake to help with gripping the panel; it also draws attention to the tab. I love how this turned out!
