ATCAS #156 - Ombre

Are you ready for a new Addicted to CAS challenge, pardners?  The code word is "ombre," one of my favorite techniques.  Plus, it's rather punny:  hombre, ombre.  Get it?   I didn't say it was a good pun.

I used a circle die to create a mask through which I sponged the ombre purple. In real life, it gets noticeably lighter toward the top. Then I colored up the MFT image and stamped the sentiment. Super easy, right?

And get this!  I'm having an additional giveaway of my own on IG to make this birthday hop even sweeter! You could win the That's Crafty Magda Polakow The Mama Bear Collection set!  I'll announce the winner of this set on IG.

Now on to my card!

Let's start with the background. Rainbow. Shamrocks. Lots of future good luck!

I covered the card front panel with Scor-Tape and laid down the the Visible Image Time Tunnel stencil over it.

I then burnished on the rainbow Deco Foil through the stencil. Next I carefully removed the stencil and burnished gold Deco Foil on the remaining exposed adhesive. I added a couple of layers of patterned paper hills. The edges of the foil got a little mucked up when I pulled off the stencil, so I used a frame die to remove the ick.

I used the quirky Aall and Create Dog Attitude and Aall and Create Moody Kittens images because how could I not?  They are so not in a celebratory mood, which is exactly why I love them. Their faces say it all for us introverts!

I stamped them (and the sentiment for that matter) with Versafine Onyx Black and colored them with Zig markers. Their expressions crack me up and I'm looking forward to more snarky cards with them!

Whew! Here's to much future success for Topflight Stamps!

Now keep hopping and enjoy all the amazing creativity you'll find by these wonderful ladies!

SOSS #131 - U is for Unicorn

Time for another Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge--U is for Unicorn!  How could I not use this unicorn image?  I swear I feel (and look) like this all the time too!

Really easy card with a Copic colored image on top a card base wit ha bit of washi and stenciled clouds.  The 24-7 amuses me immensely--too under caffeinated to even get that straight!

The Details:  Rabbit Hole Designs Caffeinated Unicorn, Visible Image The White Rabbit, Distress Oxide Salty Ocean, MFT Mini Cloud Edges stencil, Recollections washi tape, Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black

Whimsy M3 - Nap

Hello, Whimsy fans!  Today's card cracks me up.  Look at the expression on the old woman's face from the Old Fart set--so derpy! LOL.

I stamped her with VersaFine Onyx Black and used Zig Real Brush Markers to color her up.  I then cut her out with one of the new Pierced and Stitched Circle Dies. I'll be using these circles a lot and am hoping we'll see some rectangles and squares in the future (hint, hint).

I thought with the sentiment (LOL!), I would use the Shaker Maker Pennant Flags to create a party banner. I'm like the old woman, happy hour really is a nap for me!

The sentiment is also stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black with a bit of festive washi beneath.

Happy Birthday, Sweetie!

Today is a momentous day!  My partner turns 60. 60 is a huge milestone! Close to retirement but not close enough. Gravity has taken its toll on every body part (EVERY--trust me). You start getting a different type of junk mail like build-your-own-coffin.  In essence, you're officially old.

But my sweetie is young at heart and still loves to rock out. Ok, smooth jazz out but close enough. That said, I HAD to make him a card using the MFT Turntable die and coordinating For the Record sentiments. It's like MFT knew I needed this set!

I started the card by sponging the card base with Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron so a bit would peep out from behind the Hero Arts Heart Confetti Die (a great substitute would be the Lawn Fawn Polka Hearts Backdrop).  That die is cut from DCWV Winter Frost 6x6 paper.  So is the PTI Banner Die.

Now the really fun part for me was creating the turntable. I cut out the bits, coating the record in Ranger Glossy Accents then re-cutting that so the impressed lines would show up even more. Plus shiny. The arm is cut from Recollections Silver Mirror Board.

I added the MFT Happy Birthday Circle Frame cut from one of my Adirondack Alcohol Ink leftovers for funky fun.  I love how that looks, especially with the record label cut from the same.

Final steps were stamping the For the Record sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black and gluing everything down using the Ranger Glossy Accents. I even used it on the black enamel dots as the adhesive on them seems to wear off over time. Oh, wait, the turntable arm is popped up on Scotch Foam Tape.

ATCAS #155 - Green

It's time for a new code word over at Addicted to CAS! I KNOW this one is going to be popular!

My card features Santa (yes, Santa!) but the hat changed out and colored up leprechaun style.  He's so flipping cute! I can imagine him doing a jig around his treasure, can't you?

Whimsy M2 - Poof

Is Stinkerbell not the cutest, sassiest stamp set by Whimsy Stamps’ very own Deb Davis?! I know exactly which stinky member of my family I'm sending this one to.  LOL.

I stamped the fairy in VersaFine Onyx Black and colored her up using Zig Watercolor Markers. I coated her wings with Wink of Stella. The poof is stamped in Catherine Poolers inks but I could have easily used Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn.

Once all the coloring and stamping was done, I diecut Special twice, once from the card front and again from black foam so I could pop it up.  I love the effect.

Thanks So Mush!

Practice makes perfect, as they say, and it's so true with the Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer Dies. I watched the video, made a tester version then finally "got it" and came up with this card.

Sooooo cute!  I stamped the little gnome scenes from the Lawn Fawn Oh Gnome! set with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copics.

I then used the Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer Dies to cut them out. I cut then stamped and colored with my first version. Cutting after is so much easier.  Duh. I know.

Both sentiments are stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. The speech bubble sentiment is from Mama Elephant Stackable Cuties. I wish I had used my MISTI to stamp it so I could have done it again for even more boldness.

I cut out the main cover up panel using Doodlebugs On the Farm 6x6 paper. Isn't that floral pattern adorbs?  I used the Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer Add-on to cut out the frame and pull tab.

The picture changing really is magic. Whoever came up with this idea and turned it into a die is super genius!

Notice the Lil' Inker Stitched Woodgrain background?  I found that in my unused stash so am happy to be using leftovers!

SOSS #130 - O is for Ombre

Time for a new Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge which is all about ombre! This is one of my favs because you can do so much with it. The colors, of course, but you could play upon hombre/ombre. You're welcome to the idea!

My card features stenciling in ombre-style along with a grumpy duck who is as ready for sunny weather as I am. So ready!!!

I like coloring ducks.  They require so few Copics.  :)
